I have nothing against freedom of speech ... really I don't ... but when I take the time out of my schedule to watch a City Council meeting and I hear people drone on about problems with the Scranton Times ... and I hear someone drone on and on about ECTV ... Ron Ellman going on and on about ... god only knows what ... most of this has nothing to do with the day to day operations of the City of Scranton.
Now I ask you this can City Council dictate when and what ECTV airs???? I think this council is very full of themselves and all I can say is Thank GOD that I don't go down to council chambers to see these meetings anymore ... lets get to the business of running the city and stop worrying about when ECTV decides to air debates ....
Is it just me or am I crazy to think there are more important things to be discussed!

What was that Dobson fellow taking about? I could barely follow his rambling non sequiturs. His tapes wouldn't record, so therefore ECTV must be to blame?
Balko he is the one who inspired this thread ... I was watching and he started out saying that he was going to go over his time because what he had to say was very important ... now I never imagined that I would have to hear about how he uses a certain tape ... then transfers it to VHS ... blah blah blah ... then on to a rant about what ECTV airs and what time they air it ... asking council to make them cover the meetings of Ozzie and his taxpayer gang live ... he must have talked for 15 minutes .... maybe longer as I went into a coma listening to him ... on the other hand somone with a ligitimate problem gets up to speak ... they are cut off when their time is up ... and told to come back next week to finish .... and all I want to do is scream .... ARE YOU KIDDING ME! But the reason for this usually is that the speaker with a real problem that council can handle ... well they are not doomers ... so they don't count. That is my opinion ... but I think I would have slit my wrists if I had to sit in council chambers and listen to that meeting ... I do know at the very least I would have been lynched after the meeting as I would not have been able to keep my mouth shut and I would have gotten up and spewed what was on my mind.
Lets get to City Business at these meetings ....................
