Every vote by the fireman will be a retaliation vote any way you look at it. I'm not say that's a bad thing, but it makes it look planned. The presidents of the unions just happened to be in council chambers for the appointment. Did they know something other people didn't know or were they there to congratulate whoever the appointee was? 

High marks for transparency, but low marks for what was shown to us. I don't like it. I like it less the more I think about it.

Buying the 'evansdeceit' URL has about the same impact as Pilchesky's buying 'senatormellodeceit', 'PAStatePoliceDeceit' and the others he was crowing about a year or so ago...meaning that it has no meaning.

Yes, Glenn....please do give her a chance.  When the dust settles and she has imploded via a combination of David/Christopher/Ego/Backroom Deals/Hypocrisy/etc. you can then go into full lawyer weasel mode and spin some yarn about how you "warned her privately" (gee...where have I heard that tale before?).

I do not have "private access" to the Evans family beyond the occasional call from Dave discussing a football wager.  I honestly haven't seen Janet or Chris since last October.

Joe bought those with the intent on using them.  I bought mine so no one would.

Football wager ? Am I to understand that the President of our City Council condones her husband's actions in illegal gambling? Also to include those same illegal actions of her trusted attorney? That same attorney who advises her privately on various matters which concern the City of Scranton and matters pertaining to her own council presidency?

Was there not a recent media circus about a local school teacher or principal who was reprimanded and/or fired for running numerous sporting-event wagering pools within the school district and included fellow teachers from that district?

One would think the fact that in the Evans family there is a sitting council president who, although on disability, maintains her current status as a tenured high school teacher; and another current school teacher with aspirations for school principal, there would be a little more decorum and restraint from illegal gambling. It would be a travesty in Lackawanna County politics if this were to get out. Simply a travesty ...
