I have all the information necessary get the job done, with a lot left over for other things.  We have a very wholesome collection of eclectic posters here now.  There's no question that each and every issue can be raised and argued among them.  Besides, two weeks ago I got an anonymous letter warning me that Doherty was going to have dozens of people register to post here just to eat the board up and make it confusing.  The tip was right on the money.  I started getting registrations galore.  All tolled, 72 people registered in a short period of time.  All 72 of them were approved, until the Times pissed me off.  They've all been banned. And, any poster who so much as offers a syllable of support for Doherty goes down the same road. The purpose of the site and the board is to expose corruption and deceit, not promote the mayor, the most corrupt of them all.
You and your collection of eclectic posters couldn't get it done in 2005 ... and you couldn't get it done in 2009 ...

hey joe how many peoplke view this site?

joe how many people view this site? some people i speek to say they don't want to view this site because they think it's the same people that speek at "konsil" every week. and they don't think they are a reliable sorce of info. I think most of what is said i good, and true but some people want another source to be swayed to go the other way.

how many people view this site

and how many diff people are reg to post.

and joe regardless of these numbers all the work and info you have posted should be enough to sway anybody.

i'm only asking because i'm trying to get the word out about this site.

The site hits have leveled off at about 7,500 a day.  Some days are higher, like mid-week and the weekends slow down a little.  However, the site pages are still being worked on.  There are still about 8 more new pages to build in the next two weeks.  Very shortly, an advertising campaign will begin to insure that each and every household is made aware of what is offered here.  At that time, the hits will likely reach 30,000 per day, if not more.  There are approximately 375 people registered to post, all approved.  Over 100 have been banned.  Many are not posting for reasons unknown to me, perhaps they are happy with the information covered by those who are posting.  I don't know.  I suspect they will all get active soon.  As far as how many council speakers post here, I have no way of knowing.  The registration process includes only your IP address as an identification marker, and no names.  The only way to access any registered poster's name is if they post something threatening or defamatory.  If civil or criminal action is taken, the poster's name is available by court order.  The court order goes to the server, not me.  I could only provide the IP address.  I know who a few poster are because they told me when I've met them out in public, but I can only guess at the others.

Some appear to be council speakers, which is fine, but some of the info is coming right out of City Hall, or right from the horses mouth.  In addition to the postings, I get a ton of confidential emails that can't be posted because the nature of the info would clearly reveal the source.  I also get a lot of mail, and not all death threats.  I got two letters today, actually, that provided me with some very interesting things going on in Doherty's camp, and it isn't postive.  There's a lot of internal fighting going on.  Plenty of finger pointing. They don't know what to do with the direction this site is going.  Doherty is used to being the bad guy, pushing people around, getting his way through intimidation.  He doesn't know what to do with a bad guy who pushes back and cannot be intimidated. He'll be the most humiliated man to lost a re-election bid for mayor, I guarantee it.

Your friends should follow the site and this board.  The next month will be something that this city has ever seen before or will again.  City Hall will be cleaned out.  By the people.

They all fall in the Fall.

Just How many times have we seen this over the past 4 years .... LOL .... Doherty didn't fall in the fall of 05 and he is not going to fall in the fall of 09 ... hmmmmm ... not as effective as you thought are you Joey?

The article was a compliment to the movement against Doherty.  They are so desparate to silence the truth, or spin it in any way they can, that they did the worst thing possible, they attacked the most basic and fundamental right that every person has in this country - to speak.

The Scranton Times can take full responsibility for what is going to happen in this city in the next month.  Chris Doherty and his cirlce of greedy pigs can thank the Lynett's for what is coming their way.  Before and after the election!  The election won't stop other things already in progress in terms of criminal considerations.

This is 1935 Germany revisited.  An attack on speaking???  An attack on our most prized constitutional right?  An attack on common people questioning their governments acitivities?

They call it Mayor bashing?  Since when did speaking the truth become bashing?  If our corrupt thieving mayor didn't want to be subjected to what these truths will do to him, he shouldn't have been a corrupt thief.  It's that simple.  He had a good time doing it, didn't he?  Hey, a lot of people had a good time in the back seat of a 57 Chevy, then they paid the price, didn't they?

The attack on Stulgis will have dire legal consequences.  For all the truthful facts she's provided for all of us, that was uncalled for.  The consequences will be specifically directed at Bob Scopeletti and Mike Wallace, two of Doherty's biggest mistakes of his lifetime.  It's gloves off time boys.

I will make good on the promise I made to the Scranton Times when I first heard about the article being considered.  In addition to that promise, I'll make another.  If Ch. 61 hits the dust, I'll file a 100 million dollar lawsuit against the University of Scranton for its role in the attemtped political theft of the SS Complex, with Mellow and Doherty tossed in for good measure.  AND, I'll separately sue every board member of the SRA who was involved in that sale for conspiracy to commit fraud, and that WILL include Atty. Carl Greco and company, as well as the City Solicitor at the time.  Who the Hell do these people think they are?  How did they think they'd get away with this?  And, the golf course, that's another totally fraudulent deal, from top to bottom. I see Hazzouri, Gilhooly and McCormick facing some tough questions when I get around to deposing them.  I wonder how Ray Hayes will do under questioning during deposition.  We shall see.  It's going to happen.

NEVER AGAIN WILL THE SCRANTON TIMES, A DISGRACE TO JOURNALISM, CONSIDER ATTACKING FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND THE COMMON MAN AND WOMAN.  IS THIS KIND OF SLOPPY STUPIDITY AN IRISH ARROGANCE THING OR WHAT?

DOHERTY WAS WARNED.  OUT OF TOWN IS NOT OUT OF SIGHT.

THEY ALL FALL IN THE FALL

Again ... how did you do in fufilling your promises .... did they "Fall in the Fall"  No they didn't all fall in the Fall ... and they are not all going to "Fall in the Fall" this time either ... the only wheels that I see that came off are Pilchesky's wheels ... Oh it's fun to take a trip back 4 years and see what he promised back then ... and he still has not been able to deliver ... hmmmmmm.

I think the wheels are coming off...

  • Edith is no doubt headed to jail for estate fraud
  • Pilchesky's "rock solid" predictions of a 8-15 point victory for DiBileo were dramatically off...in fact, Doherty won by more votes than he did the last time he faced DiBileo
  • Pilchesky is mired in lawsuits including the SouthSide Complex and Judy Gatelli
  • Pilcheksy is apparently in dutch with the IRS (Side Note:  I'd rather owe the Mod money than the IRS)
  • We find countless examples of Pilchesky finding the need to generate DD site traffic by posting under multiple user names (Hey Joe, isn't it about time you got another death threat?  Oh, and how about turning "Storm'n Carmen" character back into a Doherty supporter...he was more fun that way)

...it's just not the wheels he led his toadies to believe.

The worst part for Pilchesky?  DD is starting to slowly but surely rot and decay.  That's how his claim to fame will end...not in some blaze of legal or election glory, but instead what minuscule influence he thinks he had will atrophy to nothingness as people forget who Shimkus was and care more about the Feds going after Cordaro than anything Pilchesky did.

Joe Pilchesky, self-described "bad a$$" will fade into the scenery, all the while making up more and more outlandish crap as he posts under a dozen different user names to himself.  "Blaze of glory" Joe?  Nope, more like "fade to black".

Let's say that Janet Evans actually achieves her council supermajority, which in itself in not unique.  It has been achieved many times before.  What happens then?  The site, intentionally or not, was designed to implode when someone else ascended to a position of power in city government.  President Janet in charge with three fellow majority council members qualifies as a trigger.

For better or worse, however, the site's existence put a lot of local politicos on notice that corruption will not be allowed to stay in the shadows.  Unfortunately, that combination of political frustration with the availability of anonymous posting put the site on overload and in the end, DD will simply be consumed by the black hole it has helped to create.

Something more benign will probably appear next year.

GC

P.S.  Frank Shimkus will be back in 2010 and will defeat Kevin Murphy.

I don't know if Shimkus will defeat Murphy ... but Murphy will more likely than not be defeated. He does not wield the political power that he would have everyone believe ... the Mayoral election was evidence of that. He promised to deliver NS with a huge majority of the votes ... Did DiBileo win NS ... yes but only by a very small margin. He did not win 3-1 which usually is heavily influenced by Kevin Murphy and Jack Evans ... Mayor Doherty took W 3- P 1 155 to 94 according to the county website. That does not bode well for Mr. Murphy.

But for the "Straight D" vote by all the first-time younger voters who had no clue about any race but those involving Barack Obama, Frank Shimkus would still be in Harrisburg.

The one thing (or two) that Chris Doherty, Gary DiBileo, and Janet Evans have in common is that (a) they were all thrown to the dogs by Kevin Murphy and (b) they all know it.  So do their supporters.

Kevin is in deep trouble next year.

History is full of examples of good resulting from bad; the problem is that the bad has a nasty habit of overshadowing the good.  Nothing novel there.  As for DD's existance, I think you are missing a key point Glenn:

DD has always been more about Joe Pilchesky and his ego than it ever was about Chris Doherty or exposing corruption.

I can cite dozens of examples, starting with the relevence of Judy Gatelli working at a Stop-N-Go decades ago and continuing through racist, homophobic, violent and misogynistic postings that continue to be written to this very moment.

If anything, DD represents decent material for an Harvard Business Review on the power of Internet bullying and how ego has a habit of ultimately destroying group goals.
