Times Leader Scranton Edition A Failure Already????

I heard an advertisement on WILK a few hours ago about the Times Leader Scranton Edition being published on Saturdays only, starting in about two weeks.  Anyone else hear about this?

The DD connection is pretty straight forward:  They were hoping that the TL would come in and "expose" all the gossip...errr I mean "corruption" that they tout on DD.  Looks like that won't be happening anytime soon...well at least not Sunday through Friday.

Between this failing, the Scranton Post going under, and Joe's printing press money going bye-bye via restitution, I'm thinking "officer" Nelson will continue to have just DD as his only source for gossip...errrr...I mean news.

But the kids across the hall were going to make sure it was a huge success ... what happened?

I guess Fay & Anti's subscriptions were not enough.  Amazing when you consider the fact that the per copy price was only $0.25.  Gee, maybe Pilchesky & his army don't have quite the clout that they claim, Hayna or no (to use a little Wilkes-Barre lingo for a moment)?

Actually it's not amazing.  The Times Leader Scranton edition was the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader with a few Lackawanna County stories thrown on the first page or so.  Hell, even the weather section was Wilkes-Barre centered.  While I like the idea of a truly regional newspaper, that TL Scranton edition wasn't that at all.

Nice try.

Next.
