Well when you are spending that kind of money I'm guessing that you hope he wins. I take it you went ... how many attended? I'm hoping that there was entertainment as for 100 a person I would want more than a political speech.

Yes... I dropped 200 bucks and I will tell you why. I don't like Doherty...period. I would guess (just a guess) 200 people. It was the only donation I made...... and I made it because I don'twant to see this mayor continue to run this city into the ground (my opinion). AND HE HAS ALOT OF CAMPAIGN MONEY TO FEED PEOPLE CRAP. It was well worth the money VERY good food...entertainment and a very enthusiastic DiBileo (first time I saw that to be frank.)
Do I know HOW he will change the city.....to a point, however I know what HASN'T worked.
I would drop that for Doherty, If I thought he was worth it. He (Doherty) also came to my door on Sunday evening.(actually right before I was leaving)......he left rather quickly. He CAN'T confront/debate people who disagree with "his" politics...that is what I don't like (well one of the hundred) "You don't agree with me I will move on" Pus** if you ask me.
I will not attend any further campaign parties.....200 bucks is enough.
I've contributed exactly (and to quote Dean Wormer from Animal House) "Zero point Zero" dollars to political campaigns in my life, and I don't see that changing any time soon.
If Doomers or anyone else wants to donate money to a campaign, then that's his/her business. I look at it this way though: $200 could be used to help Gary DiBileo (or Chris Doherty) get elected or it could be used to buy medication for a child with cancer being treated at St Jude Children's hospital then I'll side with the kid who has cancer. Call me naive if you want, but so be it. But hell, if you got a decent meal out of the deal Doomers, then more power to ya.
In a way though I'm lucky...I don't need to support any politician for economic or other reasons. I'll continue to be employed regardless of who occupies the Mayor's office, and I'd do my best to talk members of my family out of working for the city.

Doomers ... the Mayor came to your door on Sunday? What time was that at?

I agree with Ag on this one. I've got better things to do with my money this year than to fork over $200 to any political candidate. God bless the kids at St. Judes and all that, but I've got my own child who needs shoes and a hot meal on the table.
I am far from destitute, but Dibilio and Doherty will just have to get their $$ elsewhere this season.
I won't give you the exact time cause YOU would know who I am...however it was in Tripps Park/west side.....maybe on the same street as a cemetary?????? between 5:30 and 6:30, sorry SAT not SUNDAY...my mistake. Would you like my DNA also?? He had a "heavy set" gentlemen standing at the bottom of my sidewalk. One of the mitchell's I think??? Don't quote me on him.
FYI......AG I ask you this question Isn't it sickning that Doherty will come close to spending one million bucks (he spent it last time) on campaign. ALOT of kids could be fed.
Also I donate LOTS of money to chairity...so with all respect I will control where my money goes. I sent it to DiBileo so for once in his life Chris Doherty can be told "no you can't have it"
Now you are being rediculous ... you are the one who said that he came to your house on Sunday ... I know for a fact that he could not have come to your house on Sunday ... that's why I was asking ... and as I was not with him when he went to your house then how would I know who you are ... and better than that ... why the would I care who you are.
I do not want your DNA ... I was just sure that the Mayor could not have come to your home on Sunday that's all!!
You are getting very defensive for no reason Doomers ... I actually don't think one person here cares who you are ... RELAX

ummmmmmm ok? sorry if you think I am defensive...I WAS BEING SARCASTIC MORE THAN ANYTHING.
I was also at my family's home in south side and about 20 people were in the neighborhood from the DiBileo campaign.were walking through the area, quite impressed. He (gary) I think actually wants it this time.
Again I apologize for getting my days confused...but I am lovvvving watching this mayor running scared. Again, what do you think of him not debating at the college?
Doomers...for sake of ease, I'm going to pull some of your text into this post in order to respond to a point or two. I'll keep your text in the original font.
As Lus said, I don't think we really care who you are...no disrespect intended.
FYI......AG I ask you this question Isn't it sickning that Doherty will come close to spending one million bucks (he spent it last time) on campaign. ALOT of kids could be fed. If DiBileo had a million dollars last time he would have spent that...and probably more...as well. My point was that no politician...in my opinion...is worth spending on, period.
Also I donate LOTS of money to chairity Bravo...maybe we can all make a large donation to a central Pennsylvania prison ministry, in honor of Edith's impending arrival...so with all respect I will control where my money goes. I never said you shouldn't...I simply stated my opinion that giving money to politicians is a waste. I sent it to DiBileo so for once in his life Chris Doherty can be told "no you can't have it" I wasn't aware that you knew the Mayor so well as to know that he's never been told "no..." ever in his life. That sounds like more union desperation/class warfare bull$hit to me.
As for him not debating at the college, I'll first say that I didn't know that there was a debate being offered. That said...if the debate is being run by the "Taxpayers" Association, then I think it would be nothing short of MORONIC for him to participate. That would be like Obama attending a debate being moderated by radio-fruitcake Michael Savage. The "Taxpayers" Association is a fraud...it's a joke...it's an organization designed by Ozzie Quinn to keep Ozzie Quinn in the media & rehabilitate his image, post rabbit-family/driving Habitat for Humanity into the ground. Please...please...please argue that point with me Doomers...please.
Now if the debate were being run by a reputable organization such as the League of Women Voters, then I think he should participate, provided that the questions would be asked by the moderator. Why? Because the city unions have been stacking decks in this city for DECADES (remember the Home Rule Charter committee? How many union members were on that? Don Kirchner? "Injured" former Officer Stulgis?), so no doubt the membership would be out in full force to ask lots of union-crafted 'gotcha" questions to Doherty, while DiBileo would be asked what his favorite color is and how he proposed to Christine.

Again we are all entiltled to our opinons.....and we all do respect each other, just disagree.
Some info on the debate..and you can call the college to verify this info. The debate was not run by the "so called" taxpayers group ( itoo agree they are a joke) it was to be run by the college itself they now have a political scicence dept......and there prof. called the three canidates (yep even Bolus) and Doherty told them "he is too busy."
The Taxpayers are having "interviews" and the mayor declined that also, however he is partcipating in the League of Women's voters at the High School.
So as far as the college debate....it was to be run by the political science dept...shame on the ""mayor.""
One debate, held by a reputable source LWV within a 30 day period prior to the election is more than enough.
The doomers and their nit wit leader will pour as much jackassery into that night as possible. Like the shimkus / Murphy circus with giant inflatable pigs and Bob Bolus walking on stage and handing out sealed envelopes.
I agree that if the debate is held by the LWV then he should participate ... and I also agree that one debate is quite sufficient ... I think I will be able to get it with one debate. The taxpayers association isn't what I trust to interview any candidate ... they are clearly biased ... and I don't blame any candidate for not participating in anything run by Ozzie Quinn.
I don't know what the deal is with Lackawanna College ... but I personally don't care to have debate after debate ... one and done as it will keep it honest. He is already debating in front of the LWV ... the schedules of a candiate are tight ...
I'm glad that you get that we can all agree to disagree ... lets try and keep it civil ... and I guess I just didn't get your sarcasim ... I thought that you actually believed that I care who you are ... that would be like me telling you that you are trying to figure out who I am ... I'm sure you don't care and why would you
I don't agree with your opinion but I do respect it as I hope you respect mine even though you don't agree with me.

If the debate is being run by the Political Science Dept at Lackawanna College, then I agree that the Mayor should participate, although only then if it is a debate where the moderator asks the questions. If the debate were such that audience members were allowed to ask the questions, then if I were the Mayor I'd decline. We know the unions will pack the audience.
Gary is not a terrific speaker when he is put on the spot, so there are some advantages for Doherty to participate. DiBileo is good with something prepared and when he can stay "on message", but get him cornered and he will sound very unsure of himself. Think back to his city konsil days.
BTW, kudos to Puzzler for the term "jackassery"...an apt description for Pilchesky and his motley crew.

now THERE would be a meeting of the minds -- Dibilio and Bolus -- the place would be hopping with "dis here's" and "dem dere's" -- and The Ozzmeister would be the PERFECT choice for moderator.
Dibilio: "Buh, wha ... need ta be mayer." Bolus: "Da peeple need ta know. Me an Doug Miller can do it." Quinn: "squish squish squish - swallow -- squish, squish, squish"
