This just made me wonder.  I wondered at the time what Jan's agenda was (believe me she always has an agenda) when she started jumping all over the NCC fee's associated with delinquent taxes.  Now I have to wonder if her special friend wasn't whispering in her ear??

How about the team she is putting together, I believe she is a Democrat, not sure about the other one, but Rogan is a Republican, I hope she doesn't expect any help from the Democratic Party.

Uh ohhhhhh with all the carrying on with the FBI crawling over cash for jobs in WB school district and surrounding area...Corbett has been jumping all over the issue. He received a call today "informing" him about an area teacher (no name was mentioned on the air, however Corbett was asking for any information to be sent to him through e-mail on that isssue as well as the whole teacher corruption thing in general) who was a sitting school director and got a teaching job.  Corbett went through the roof! LOL LOL I would expect this to get interesting very soon.

Now wouldn't that just be a little worse than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick?? For all her high-fallutin' ways, that would certainly be the downfall of her career.

Her getting hired as a teacher while serving on the School Board was a coincidence I tell you, a coincidence!

Another one that always had me wondering was Todd Hartman's wife getting a job as a school nurse while Todd was serving as director, when her nursing license doesn't even appear to be valid when verified online...

I don't think that the district would have hired her if her license wasn't valid ... that would certainly make them liable and open them up for many lawsuits.

Where is it that you check the validity of the license online? And are you certain that you are using the correct name?

If you could Heywood please post the link that you are using to check the validity of her license.

Now as far as giving her the job, I personally do not feel that people should be overlooked for positions if they are qualified for the position, I do however feel that if a person is hired and a family member is sitting on the board that the board member should abstain from votes to a) gain that person the position and b) from anything that would end up benefiting the persons quality of life i.e. contracts which would give raises to his wife. But if she is qualified then I do not feel that she should be overlooked for the position simply because she has a relative/spouse on the board. But again this is just my opinion and I know that many would not agree with me.

The whole process has become so tainted that to avoid even the appearance of impropriaty board members should just refrain from having family members apply for jobs during their terms.  We have a mulitude of school districts in the surrounding area (not the IU or the VoTech real school districts).  I recommend they apply there and stop the talk right dead in the water.

I completely agree with you IHave.

Unfortunately abusive hiring practices (and we all know a few examples) of the past provide positive proof that the Board and Administration are incapable of weighing the qualifications of a relative vs. those of someone who has no ties.  Does this mean that the District might have to pass on a very qualified relative for a position?  Yes it does, but I think that's a reasonable cost to bear when compared to the damage done by flagrant nepotism.

It was something somebody had said the other day... Though it may just be a mixup of similar names.

I did just look it up on the Department of State website - if she is Colleen Meehan Hartman of Scranton, then she has a current, active license and all is good. If she is Collen J Hartman of Scranton then it looks like there is a problem.

I think that before we put up that she is not qualified that we should try and find out what her name is ... this is something that can wreck a career. So before we assume that she is Colleen J. Hartmen we should get some sort of clarification on it.
