Question about Public Safety?

I drive under the Railroad Bridge that crosses Main Avenue next to the Scranton Expressway everyday. The supports that hold that bridge up are rusted beyond belief. There is actually a truss member rusted so bad it has fallen off. This bridge has to be unsafe.

My question is: Who is responsible to check the integrity of these bridges? The city? state? or federal government?

You the Tax Payer

Your mayor is too busy sprucing up Nay Aug Park

Your County Commishes are too busy trying to secure employment in D.C.

Your Gov. is too busy closing down Schools for those with disabilities

Your Reps. in Congress are too busy trying to secure funding for crony projects [well the ones who've been in office for more than 2 years anyhoo]

And "ALL" of them are much too busy trying to secure crony jobs for members of their families and other assorted unqualified hacks.

It depends:

If the road in questioned is a City road then it's the responsibility of the City

If it's the Expressway [or a County Rd.], it should be the County

If it were a Highway [such as 81] then it would be the State

Unfortunately for this poster who seems to have a serious issue only one person replied ... that's right mentally challenged Sam Patilla ... Sam this was a very serious topic and I don't think that you should have answered this guy if you did not know or did not intend to find out for him.

Anyway to this poster who I hope stops by occassionally ... the problem can be taken up with the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board), They can handle this problem for you and if I were you I would take photos of this bridge and send them to them, they will then know who the proper person to contact would be.

Link to:  National Transportation Safety Board

I would take anything that Sam Patilla says with a grain of salt, it, as I said is just unfortunate that he is the one who responded to your very serious question.  The only thing anyone will ever get out of that wacko is blame it on "Doris"  ... I hope that the NTSB will give you the help that you need ... it is the route that I would take as this is a very serious issue.
