Nelson Posts: 125 Date: Oct 29 11:43 PM, 2008 Prag....It feels GREAT to FINALLY start getting Both sides of the story. I am supporting the Times Leader by purchasing it EVERY DAY. Hope every one does. I remember the NASTY NAMES in the SLIMES that Council Speakers were called, AMONG THEM, "SNOLLYGOSTERS" AND "HALLOWEENERS", just in time for the season.I don't think the Editorialists at the Times Leader will lower themselves to the same standard as the cowardly editorialists of the Slimes. WAY TO GO TIMES LEADER AND GOOD LUCK
So let me get this straight, it's ok for Council Speakers to act in a disrespectful manner during City Council meetings AND it's ok for DD posters to level all manner of insults...including many that are sexually explicit...at members of City Council and the Mayor BUT it's wrong for the Scranton Times to refer to council speakers as "Snollygosters"????
Personally I'd rather be referred to as a "Snollygoster", whatever the hell that is, than some of the crap that they throw at Judy Gatelli ON A DAILY BASIS.
With all due respect, Nelson needs to save up those quarters and instead use them to buy a clue, because he apparently doesn't have one.

I buy the Times every morning and have yet to see a copy of the Time Leader ... I wouldn't mind giving it a try ... but where the hell can I find it to buy it???
I like the Times and will also continue to purchase it, but for a quarter ... well I will see what it's all about ... I used to also purchase the Tribune years ago.

I got a free copy of the Times Leader at the coffee shop the other morning, along with my Times-Tribune. Read it and wasn't impressed, it still had most of the same nonsense, but still primarily catered to the lower valley. Then I found one on my windshield the same day, which pissed me off. (I hate finding crap on my windshield).
All this new edition is going to do is give pilcheski more fodder for his rumor mill. Now he's going to start branching out down Wilkes-Barre way and harp about Lokuta and all her lackies. Same old blah blah blah.
Isn't the up-valley edition of the Times Leader published by the same entity as the Times Tribune??
Barney FIFE needs to retire while he can save his health care benefits. I heard he has been a cop since Mayor E B Jermyn appointed him. Mayor McNulty promoted him to regular after the answers were passed out, and now Mayor Doherty will let him go with health care. My advice take the package and run, maybe in his case walk away slowly using your walker or cane, whatever it is he needs.
