Conventions are over. Both parties have presented their candidates. With just 59 days left and the countdown underway the field of battle has now been set.
If Joe Biden keeps making gaffes like the one he made the other day, there won't need to BE any discussion.
In paying tribute to a gentleman in the audience, Biden mentions the man's name and asks him to stand up to be recognized. The man is a paraplegic. Sure Biden ad-libbed his way out of it, but the damage was done and no one in the McCain-Palin camp is likely to forget it anytime soon.
*edited to change -- The news I heard was the man was in a wheelchair. It was not quoted that he is a paraplegic.

I have to say I tend to agree with you Girl. Frankly the Dem's seem to be havinga collective apoplexy over the selection of Sarah Palin. They need to chill out, take a breath, and shoehorn their feet out of their mouths. Geez they act like they have never seen a woman before LOL LOL. At the rate this is going they will be calling for a duel at sunrise soon. LOL LOL
Barrack Obama wins the race for President of the United States --- Winning both the electoral votes and the popular vote.
Congratulations President-elect Obama and Vice-President elect Biden -- The hard work is about to begin ... bringing back the economy we are in a desparate need of jobs in this country --- healthcare reform --- an end to the war in Iraq ... and keeping terrorism at bay ... May God be with you both as your road will not be an easy one.

There's nothing but fist-thumping going on in Chicago to-day.
My husband was wondering why, after all his negative thoughts about Obama, Jesse Jackson was in the audience to cheer him on. I told him he wasn't about to let the tear-running-down-the-cheek photo-op go by or let Oprah suck up all the celebrity vibes.
Hang on to your wallets folks, it's gonna be a bumpy four years.
edited to add - On a less cynical note,I will support our new President-elect because I respect the office to which he has been elected. The man is going to need all the prayers and good wishes he can get.

Hear!! Hear!! I will not pretend to say this was my hope for the election outcome...however the people of my great country have spoken. I will respect the choice and the man in the office. God bless him and this great country.
