I am hoping one of you has a clue as I do not ....

Ok here is my dilemma I am thinking about buying an e-reader.

What is the differrence between Kindle/Sony (i.e. pro/con)?
Am I able to purchase an ebook off a site not hosted by Kindle/Sony (i.e. Random House Ebook)and still download it to my reader?
Can I get audiobooks to load also? music? video?

anyone?? Help!!!!!!!!!!!

IHave...

That's not technology that I'm readilly familiar with, so I don't have an opinion based on experience. I do have two thoughts for you though:

  1. I really like Sony's products...I have a Vaio laptop, H7 digital camera, Mylo music player, PS2, etc. I've never had a problems witn any of them.
  2. I highly recommend C-Net as a site for product reviews and user opinions. I found the e-book readers on the site and pasted the link below for you.

Ok settled on the Kindle. So far I like it very much. It does play MP3 format so music can be played in the background while you read. I recommend a SDHC as the memory capacity of the kindle isn't huge. I keep my music on that and my books in the kindle. The speakers aren't "concert" quality as you can imagine so ear buds are preferable for listening. It has the ability to play audio books as well but I have not tried that out yet.The battery power is long. I have used it every day and I didn't need to charge it until today.That was around week I think.I will keep you informed asI continue to test it out.

Kindle is the Amazon product, right?
