I know its been mentioned here, but this is too amazing to not have it's own thread. As penned by Dan Hubbard in the 6/20/2008 edition of letters to the editors at The Times-Tribuune:
Editor: The purpose of this letter is to rescind the multiple accusations and negative remarks I have made at Scranton City Council meetings regarding Daron Northeast. The statements I made were misleading, malicious and without merit.
Among the false allegations I made toward Daron Northeast were:
I stated that Daron was not in compliance and that it exploited loopholes to get the company up and running. Daron Northeast followed the proper guidelines to start its manufacturing operations in the city of Scranton and did nothing to exploit the city or the zoning officials. Daron submitted all the proper applications and received all the appropriate approvals to begin its operations in 2003.
I also stated that Daron Northeast violated local zoning ordinances 30-some times. I had and still have no basis for that accusation. To my knowledge, there is not one existing zoning ordinance being violated by Daron Northeast at this time.
I have accused the city administration of protecting Daron Northeast and lining its pockets as a result of that. I have no basis for that accusation whatsoever. Daron Northeast has followed all the proper channels and guidelines in establishing its business within the city limits.
My statements accusing Daron Northeast of causing long-term lung damage as a result of Darons operations and operating illegally polluting the environment and killing residents were made recklessly and without any merit. I have no reason to believe that these statements have any truth whatsoever.
For these reasons, I am hereby retracting the above statements that I have made about Daron Northeast.

Dan, when I read this letter from you I can picture the part of the movie "Patton" where GC Scott slaps the coward's face. Well done d-bag. You not only got beat, you were forced to let the "enemy pork your wife in front of all of your friends." Joe would be so proud. Let me guess, The Times screwed you and you're going to sue them. Next.
Wow ... that must have been really hard for him to do ... but maybe they can learn a lesson from Danny's mistakes ... this is why it is so important to back up statements with proof ... we can't all just sit here and say whatever the hell we want and then claim that we have the right because we have the right to freedom of speech.
Now I wonder how much Danny respects Joe now ... and I wonder if Danny will once again be elected by his neighborhood as the President of the LGRNA ... I know I wouldn't vote for him if I were them ...
I guess there goes his lovely political career planned by the kids across the hall ... right out the window ... not that he would have been a winner ...
At any rate I hope that he gets that siren he needs soon ...

One day soon Mr. Pilchesky will be having a serving of crow followed by some of that humble pie as his luck is bound to run out soon and he will be on the business end of a lawsuit for his false statements ... or at least that is my sincere hope for him.

Hard to do? Nah, they had lawyers that may Dan shake and cry. The letter to the editor was the best deal he was going to get short of giving up the homestead for court costs.
Little Danny could have quietly posted all he wanted on dd.com. The second he contacted, was quoted and photographed commenting like an idiot in the media he was toast.

Nor does it prevent individuals, companies, etc from defending themselves. The DD goons are calling this a "slap" suit...well it is...Daron simply "slapped" Danny back; therein lies the difference:

I don't think for a minute that Daron was being a good neighbor in Lower Green Ridge. But making crap up about them and spouting it off in a public forum was stupid and juvenile...so maybe the punishment set forth by Daron's lawers fit the crime.

Imagine the headlines we'd get on a regular basis had Dan won the write-in vote he attempted. I still don't understand why his mom with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth at the GR Assembly of God Church handing out scrap paper with Dan's name written in pencil didn't translate into a write in win. Stunning, to say the least.

I don't think that they quite figured out how to use that printing press they claim to have ... because if they did ... we would have that weekly slam paper that Pilchesky promised ... and the multitude of flyers exposing various public officials and their families that he also promised ... Joey is full of promises that he never comes through on ... that's why I can't figure out why the kids across the hall are so enchanted by him.

Danny will be back, more obnoxious than ever....although maybe more careful than before. I don't think Daniel is a dumb man...he just has a habit of letting his mouth do the thinking instead of his brain. Driving the mouth? His ego. All the more reason, I suspect, for the forced "I had it all wrong about Daron/I suck" letter to the editor.

Hubbard would never have kicked up that stink unless he had been prompted by joe, who knew there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell to accomplish anything by facing off with Daron. So he 'McFinnitied' Hubbard into doing it for him and Hubbard made an ass out of himself in the process. ... and joes' squeaky clean ...
