I'm dead serious when I say, that I think DD is a cult. Why else would a group of people blindly follow that lunatic. They do so without ever questioning any of thenumerous things he has done that would leave a halfways normal person to say "what the **** is wrong with that guy"?
Think about it, he scooped up all the miserable, self loathing people that have nothing better to do than to TRY and pull down anybody they can to make themselves feel better. Very often with blatant lies. In fact I just read a post mentioning someone being a terrible drunk, but know for a fact that the guy doesnt even drink at all.
All cults prey on the outcasts of society. And the Rich guy from Greenridge might be a lunatic but hes not dumb. He let these wackos feel like their part of something, and slowly but surely turned them into hateful disciples that carry out his napolean complex ways.
We have often compared him to the Reverand Jim Jones ... you are right ... no matter what this guy does ... they think his godlike.
He beat a Ed Henehan with a crowbar while he was sleeping off a drunk night ... just about killed him ... and they think he had every right to do this ... he beat the hell out of a bank teller ... because he claims that he beat his wife ... or something like that ... not really sure of the entire story ... but the DD'ers think he was right to do that also ... He condones the fact that his wife robbed the estate of her father ... but it was ok because after many years of estrangement ... they reconcilled the relationship when they knew he was going to kick the bucket ... to get the money ... little did they know someone would challenge them on this ...
He hates the Mayor because he claims that he was not allowed to put up a handicap accessible ramp on his home ... that's a bull$hit story as anyone who knows anything ... this cannot be denied ... if this were denied the ADA would be all over the city of Scranton for non compliance. But his minions blindly accept his bull$hit story.
He claims that wire tapping is only a crime if one is caught and has them thinking that he is tapping the phone lines of people that he has a vendetta against ... and they believe that he is doing this ...
They think this guy is the second coming of Christ ... and they are playing the role just the way this narsassitic a$$hole needs them to play it. If he told them to drink the kool-aide they would ... If tomorrow morning he woke up and said Doherty was great and wonderful and the best Mayor this city ever had .... they would go right along with him ... it's sad when you think about it ... they no longer know how to think for themselves ... he does that for them.

I want everyone to stop and think about one thing ... Joe Pilchesky is not a lawyer ... he's just a guy playing a lawyer on the internet. Please don't trust your legal needs to this man.
I'm always wary of people who build themselves up by demonizing others*. History is full of examples, and Pilchesky fits the bill to a tee, all be it on a much smaller scale. The fact that he brings along the weak-minded isn't surprising, it's to be expected. There is also a cadre of Pilchesky's flock that probably think he's full of crap, but they use him because he provides a convenient blunt instrument (his message board, where all manner of unsubstianted rumor and idiocy are allowed) to use against the Mayor. Add certain city union members and general fanatics like AntiSemeticMovements to that list.
Personally I think he's just a bully, period. What happens to bullies in the 21st century when they grow too old to physically intimidate others? Well, if they have the resources (and an enabling partner like Edith), they use the courts and the internet to do the bullying for them. Like most bullies though, Pilchesky hates it when people fight back. That's one of the reasons why "Mr Free Speech" does not allow any speech that references this site at DD.
(*) Now some could say that this site also fits that description because we regularly tear Pilchesky down, but that misses a key point. What we do here is expose Pilchesky's insanity to a critical eye, which is substantially different than, say, blaming all the evils of Scranton on one person. What's more, none of us here are engaged in self-promotion.
