RE: City hall closed Thursday ???

Granted, if anyone would make a political football out of a tragedy, it would be the likes of Chris Doherty. His contrary attituderegarding respect for the unionized city employees is infamous by any standards. In my view, honoring Mr. Robeson in death is appropriate, but where was the honor before? Many opposing sides put down their weapons at a time of personal tragedy, and perhaps that what he's doing, but in reality, his disrespect for both the fireman and the policeman precedes his intentions, whatever they may be. He's done nothing but insulted them since he was sworn into office. No need to recite his history, it speaks for itself. It is what it is, as he'd tell you. His showing of honor should be treated for what it is considering the source.

Acker Ave. ring a bell, dickhead? Where was your photoHOUND wife with the camera when this particular tragedy happened?

You're a fraud.

Its a case of your damned if you do and your damned if you don't ... if he didn't close city hall they would be all over him for his lack of respect ... but since he did ... well now they say it is to late to start respecting the firemen ... he can't win no matter what he does.

They NEED to constantly find fault with what the Mayor does, as that's essential to keeping Pilchesky's merry band of "supporters" tied to the site. Whether he does something worthy of criticism (which he does...like every other politician, *cough Janet Evans cough*) or not, it doesn't matter. If they weren't constantly personally bashing the Mayor, Judy Gatelli, et all, there wouldn't be a reason to worship at the altar of Pilchesky.

Contrary to what you read from some, DD has never been about being a watch-dog over government. If it was, criticism of Janet (got myself and my son teaching positions) Evans would be allowed. Rather, DD is all about simply trying to inflict pain on people that Joe Pilchesky, for whatever reason, does not like. The ironic part is that in the case of Mayor Doherty, he has failed, miserably.

It must frost his ass that he can't get under the Mayor's skin ... no matter what he says about the Mayor ... the Mayor carries on as if Joe and the goon squad don't even exist ... got to love that!!!

Why do little kids burn, real community activists suffocate and true heroes get electrocuted when the world is full of guys like Joe just waiting for the unfortunate circumstances of life to occur.

Doesn't seem fair.

Try catching that pass Pilchesky. Strike the Heisman pose d-bag.

You suck, and your community doesn't look, act, or sound anything like you.

We're better. We're most people.

We're not you.

God bless the brave men and women who protect us every night and every day.

I think these two posts fit quite nicely into this thread .... they show us just how much of an idiot Joe Pilchesky is ... and how he tries to become an important part of every event or situation that happens in the City of Scranton.

Now if you read the first post carefully you will see that Mr. Pilchesky states that he he was not in attendance nor did he see the broadcast of the funeral ...

Priest gives Doherty a plug???

I wasn't there, but I've heard from a few sources that the priest who said the mass recognized Doherty and his cronies as special guests, or something to that effect? Is nothing sacred? That's all I'm asking. Bad enough the Ch. 28cameraman swept the lens by himsitting next to Kanjo and Casey several times, but an honorable mention of theprick who looks upon fireman with such disdain ruffles my political feathers. Truth be told, it turns my stomach.

That couldn't have gone over very well in a church full of fireman. Couldn't have. Sorry, can't help myself. Doherty and company should have been seated well at the rear and the front should have been reserved for the human kind.

..... now he does not come right out and say he did not see the broadcast however we can be assured that he did not when he makes the statement that he heard from a source what was said.

And then he posts this:

RE: In memory of Jim Robeson

Scranton's most celebrated tribute ever to a fallen hero came to a close today with the burial of Capt. Jim Robeson. There's just too much to say about the events as they unfolded today, but I will share this with those not in attendance thatthere wasn't a dry eye anywhere, practically from start to finish. Jim's son read one of two eulogies that honored his Dad in every way a son could glorify a life of love, care, giving and dedication to his family, friends and job. "My Dad diedthe way he wanted to die."

The entire route was overflowing with gestures of sadness and pride, to include the presence of hundreds upon hundreds of children, some smaller childrendressed as a fireman, some with badges on them, others as young a 3 saluting the coffin as it passed, and still hundreds of others waving flags. There was a baby in a playpen, and in front of the playpen, were two large toy firetrucks with the ladders raised and a flag adorning the top, which got to everyone in the procession. That's justa small example of the outpouring of emotion that galvanized everyone in their grief and respect. Many houses had black ribbons tied to their porches. A huge contingent of officers from everywhere paid their respects, vehicles endlessly lined up with lights flashing.Even a paramedic transport helicoper floated above the gravein a final good-bye to a man who was clearly an unselfish, quiet hero in many senses of the word, and as we all know now, bigger than life.

.... Now it is only my opinion but Pilchesky needs to make up his mind .... was he there or was he not there ... by his own admission he was not in attendance .... yet he gives a descriptive narrative on exactly what happened in the procession as if he were a part of it ... one would think that he walked with the family and firefighters ... yet he said he did not attend .... hmmmmm

And he has the nerve to talk about anyone taking away from this time of mourning for this family and the fire department ... he is trying to make a political football out of this tragedy ... he is trying .... in my opinion to make everyone believe that he was a part of this ... just another fine example of his narcissism ... Get a life Joe ... you probably didn't even know this man ... you should be ashamed of yourself!

Ironic that they accuse Mayor Doherty of always wanting to be the center of attention and of hating the working man, but the posts here prove that...

...in Joe Pilchesky's mind, hate never takes a day off
...Joe Pilchesky just can't leave a tragedy alone without somehow interjecting himself (the same man who, when children were dying in a fire, had his wife out taking pictures of snow on the street)
