These women have never shown at council looking anything but well groomed and very presentable.Now lets take a look at Fay, this is how this person appears on TV, by God ( I refuse to admit to her being a women sorry Agam) this person could scare a buzzard off a road kill. We ragged on Morgan for showing up looking like something that got dragged from a dumpster and he spruced up his act a little ... a little, I say. Hell, even joe himself made a comment or two about the message being taken more seriously when it is delivered by someone who looks like they took the time to make themselves a little more presentable.

And fay can't give ANYone any crap about showing up 'straight from work' because her shift ends much earlier than the 6:30 start to council meetings. If anything, comments should be made about a representative from PAWC, in full uniform nonetheless, voicing such an opinion and acting in such an uncivilized manner at a public forum. Has anyone seen to sending a copy of that clip to PAWC? Local office is up on Stafford Avenue near the post office - it wouldn't take much for anyone to walk that bad boy up there.

Sure janet can clean herself up like a shiny new penny for the meetings, but have any of you seen her out and about when she doesn't know anyone's looking? It's enough to make your eyes bleed.

I am being totally honest here with this comment. If I did not already know it was the real thing and not a scene from a bad movie I would truly not believe that someone actually is like that.

Yes. I have seen Mrs. Evans while I was working at Lowe's. She's quite an...err..."handsome" woman if I do say so myself when she's not wearing a half-pound of make-up.

I hate to say this, but first impressions are everything folks. If you want people to view what you say as being credible, then you should express yourself coherently, respectfully, articulately, and be dressed in appropriate attire. For God's sake even Ray Lyman dresses better for the meetings than Fay Franus does. Come to think of it, I can't believe the water company wouldn't want their representatives to appear more professional---after all, when their employees appear unkempt it reflects poorly upon the company they work for.

I've attended various etiquette seminars here at King's, and if someone who looked like Fay walked into a job interview, they could pretty much guarantee they wouldn't hear back from that employer. I bump into so many new people each day (some of whom could be the ticket to my first post-college accounting position) that I refuse to leave the house unless I look well-composed. This means I brush my teeth, floss, wear clean and ironed clothing, make sure my hair looks decent, etc. After all, I'd rather don khakis and a dress shirt daily for no good reason from Monday-Thursday only to have my efforts pay off on Friday when I bump into a human resources manager for an accounting firm while browsing at Barnes & Noble. First impressions mean the world to people. As much as we'd like to say "don't judge a book by its cover," we are all guilty of this in some way, shape, or form. When I see Fay approach the podium every week, I start laughing hysterically before she even opens her mouth to speak because I can't believe she expects people to take her seriously when she doesn't even have enough respect for those whom she is addressing to at least take a few quick brush strokes through her hair to make her appear less...errmm...Sasquatch-like.

When I approached the podium to address council about a possible strategy to milk more out of the University of Scranton for PILOT, I was understandably nervous (hence my shaky voice and occasional space fillers), but I kept a pleasant demeanor by smiling in between topics, attempted to make eye contact whenever possible (I suppose those on council felt more compelled to take "fresh blood" seriously), and was very well dressed. I may not always agree with the actions that council members undertake, but I certainly have respect for the offices they hold. After all, they were elected by the majority of city residents, were they not? It took minimal effort on my part to make a decent presentation of my ideas, and I would have been even more coherent had I opted to prepare an outline ahead of time instead of approaching the podium on the spur of the moment. Apparently my idea caught their attention to, as Judy and I conversed via e-mail about it, and she seemed to be rather receptive (debunking claims that she doesn't return e-mails).

Sorry to go off on a rant like this, but if you want respect, then you must earn it. I'd take the members of DD much more seriously if they'd express their perspectives somewhat respectfully, thoughtfully, and without hostility. Out of all of the council and DDregulars the few that get my nod would be Dan Hubbard, Marie Schumacher,and Nancy Krake. Ozzie Quinn, Andy Sbaraglia, Fay Franus, and most of the rest of the lot make arses out of themselves week after week and don't seem to care.
