RE: Maria Piccolino steps up to the plate

Well, here I am everyone, off the shelf and dusted. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. if you would like me to come to your residence and have a discussion on any of the issues, I would love to do so. In the meanwhile, I must say, you can huff, you can puff, but you will never blow my house down. I am seriously in it to win a seat for the people, period. Any other motives are ludicrous. I could have taken the money for our business and left town, but I wanted to stand my ground against this corrupt administration. We have customers from all over the NE region, but I love Scranton and I want to service the community for another twenty years. I'm not just fighting for my business, as some have accused me of doing, I'm fighting to show everyone how corrupt our elected officials are and to do my part to undo all the wrong that has been done to our residents and taxpayers. My cell is 570-335-6154, call me anytime to discuss my intentions, but I'll tell you right now that like so many of you, I'm as disgusted and upset over the reckless spending and crony leadership as you are. Thank you. Giovanni

(edited for typo)

The good news is that now I'm sure who I'm going to vote for in November. Thanks Giovanni.

Oh, one bit of free advice to Mr Piccolino: when you play in a sewer, don't be surprised if you come out smelling like $hit.

He had to make an appearance before his sister sank him. I'm glad he did. Now let's see if he'll answer any questions. But I stand by my original opinion.

This race is over.

I wonder if he'll have to jump through the same hoops to verify and authenticate his identity, as his sister was allegedly made to do. After all, he's posting under an, as of now, "unvalidated proper name."

Glenn, I don't recall you mentioning that you were made to kiss his as........err, validate your identity in this manner. Were you? Any thoughts on the new Pilchesky and his sudden "demand"for verification and substantiation?

I'm also not convinced that Maria is actually who she says she is. The thread about the AFSCME meeting has me scratching my head. Apparently, it was identified as an AFL-CIO meeting early on in the thread, until Joe came in and made a correction (claiming he heard it from teh hoses ass or something). Maria then resumed referring to them as the AFL-CIO.

Seems to me a campaign manager, even a part time on the weekend sort of campaign manager, would know who summoned her client (especially when he's her brother) in the middle of a fundraiser.

Hey, Denmark, what's that smell?

I just heard Giovanni speak at Tuesday's council meeting...his speech might as well have been penned by the serial-plaintiff himself. That makes me think this might be the real deal. Also, would Pilchesky be so stupid as to allow such blatant impersonation?

I don't recall having to validate my identity but I had to wait a few days. Don't forget, the message board was still in its infancy. I was completely unknown then, too (as opposed to the six or seven people who know me now), so to paraphrase the line from "The Untouchables", who would claim to be me who was not? That probably still applies.

I'm glad he's verifying. One can really do some damage on that board under a fake name, as we've all seen. If someone suddenly started posting under "Glenn Cashuric" there, I'd be in a foul mood lickety-split.

I'm not sure it's Maria Piccolino either. I can't imagine the sister of a candidate going on DD and acting completely unhinged. But, hey, who knows?

Courtright and McGoff in a walk.

The truly sad part is the lack of choice.

I think McGoff has been a low-average council member, at best. He does seem like a decent, well-spoken gentleman, but I've not seen too much evidence of independent thought on his part.

Courtright...well I think there is a guy with a split pesonality: On one hand I think the guy clearly knows that people are crossing lines of propriety all the time with regards to civil political discourse in Scranton, but on the other, he will throw a vote the way of of those same goons every once in a while just to stay north of the phrase 'rubber stamper'.

As is the case with the county commissioners race, I don't think the choices available to us are very good. I do agree with the Glenn though, Courtright and McGoff in a walk (in that order).

As for Rogan, I think college students make good interns, not legislative body decision makers. He should stick to making UTube videos.

Piccolino? There was probably an outside chance I would have voted for him, but not now. His speech at Tuesday's council meeting could be summed up in one sentence: "The Mayor sucks and three members of council suck." Not very inspiring, or original, for that matter.

Mr. Piccolino actually posted some reasonable answers and articulated several positions on the city finances. I'm not entirely sold on his candidacy yet, but I have to admit it was a step in the right direction...finally.

They classify three certain members of council as "rubber stampers". Why is it that the goons across the hall can rubber stamp everything their fearless leader says as gospel and that's just fine?

Doherty sucks -
Everyone in his adminstration sucks -
Gatelli sucks -
Fanucci sucks -
McGoff sucks -
Daron sucks -
Times Trib sucks -
Cordaro sucks -
Munchak sucks -
Donate sucks -
McDowell sucks -
PD sucks -
SSD sucks -
SPA sucks -
SSA sucks -
ICN sucks -
Scranton Sucks -
Lackawanna County sucks -

Cripes - Other than Janet Evans (who really does suck) are they content with anyTHING or anyONE? If they ain't bitchin' - they ain't happy.

Unfortunatly (at least for me) it came a week after he allowed that person who claims to be his sister to flap her keyboard, not to mention him having the total lack of personal standards by showing up in a command performance at DD, and dancing to Joey's tune. Pathetic! After seeing that, I have had enough of him and his associates.Personally anyone who fit so nicely into the goon's crazy world has no business trying to run my city. Thanks but no thanks Mr. Piccolino.
As to Mr. Rogan I haven't seen anything out of him to earn my vote. I might be inclined to consider him over Courtright if he shows me something in the next few weeks but it is doubtful at this point.

I haven't seen much in the way of campaigning by either of the incumbents. I guess Piccolino and Rogan are the best advertisements for the staus quo, and there's no need to blow their own campaign budgets. Seems like a recipe for victory.

I read Giovanni Piccolino's responses to Glenn's DD questions. Link here if you want to read them for yourself (the Q&A starts on page 3).

Here are a few thoughts on my part regarding his responses:

Question 1/Tax Increases - Budget Stuff
I agree with his (GP's) basic premise that Scranton's government is too big and spends too much money. However, he dodged a key issue: the majority of Scranton's costs are labor-related, and the majority of those costs are tied up in union wages & benefits. I'll say this straight up - you can not reduce the cost of Scranton's government without reducing the cost of the unionized labor force. Simply cutting Administration salaries/jobs may play well to the likes of Fay Franus, but it's intellectually weak as a plan. This is one of many answers where GP simply panders to the crowd.

Question 2/Controller Role
In my memory no Scranton Controller has ever exercised the level of oversight that GP seeks or Glenn alludes to as being necessary. I'm not saying that the premise is wrong, I'm saying that the office doesn't seem to be designed for it. Do they even know how? Probably a more realistic idea is to being working with Controller Novembrino to take a good, hard look at the Home Rule Charter and what it says about the role. Point out the areas that need to change, come up with a plan and implement. If there is no change, then you can point fingers.

Question 3/Document Access
Excellent question. Accessing governmental documents is not a priviledge, it's a right. GP gave a mediocre answer. This is a major issue in Pennsylvania.

Question 4/Mayor Doherty
Nothing but blatant pandering to the DD crowd on this one. GP could have come up with an answer that did something more than scream "Doherty Sucks" and "Rubber Stamp Council", but he chose not to. An unmitigated failure on the part of GP. Glenn, I strongly disagree with you if you think his answer to this question was anywhere near complete.

Question 5/Commissioners Race
All I'll say is this - as of yesterday, there was a Munchak/Cordaro sign on GP's building, right below the GP for Council sign. Either GP was being flexible with the truth relative to his answer or he is willing to compromise his beliefs when the right amount of Cordaro green is presented. Either choice seems unsavory to me.

As for his sister, I could care less who she is or what she says. She isn't on the ballot. The fact that she cheesed off a bunch of serial-plaintiff Pilchesky's goons means that she probably has half a brain.

All told, what we see now is Giovanni Piccolino, verion 2.0, fortified with Pilchesky juice. Yes, he has succeeded in getting a few of the DD crew to vote for him, but that's about it. Remember, this is the same crew that lost two elections to Doherty (his second run for Mayor and the Home Rule Charter changes) AND at least some of Pilchesky's children don't even live in Scranton.

Piccolino has jumped the shark.

Considering the history of this web site, it' s host, the nasty threads and the admin's attacks against you, don't you think posting here casts you as a weak and easily intimidated candidate with poor judgment?

Leaving a "fundraiser" in the middle to go kiss some union ass, rather than rescheduling the bar tour (assuming he knew of the meeting in advance) isn't making him look like his own man much, either.

1. I will always believe that if the controller (city or county) does the job and provides information BEFORE the problems arise, the likelihood is greater that someone, somewhere, will identify potential land mines before they explode. I won't mention names.

"Gee, we have a contract signed three years ago for $200,000 a year, but we haven't received any bills or invoices. I find this strange, Commissioner. Your opinion?"

2. I've now been accused of "drinking the kool-aid" concerning Mr. McGoff and the "white-hot angry" city residents. I stand by my opinion that Mr. Courtright and Mr. McGoff will win big.

3. Mr. Piccolino pandered on Question 4, and if the item about the Cordaro sign is true, pandered on Question 5 as well. To criticize the mayor, one must objectively view what the mayor has done while in office. I do not think Mr. Piccolino has done this. Honestly, though, I would have concerns about the city budget. It seems like a train wreck waiting to happen. But...not my business, mon.

4. I think Black Widow is Stormin' Carmen. Something in my ear clicked when I read the post. Similar tone.

This race is over. That should be the Dems' slogan.

"Elect Bill Courtright and Bob McGoff on November 6...because this race is over."

If I get ambitious enough I'll take a picture of the Cordaro sign tomorrow. As for drinking the kool-aid, all I'll say is this: Try the sugar-free cherry...it tastes as good as regular Kool Aid but with no calories. As someone who is supposed to avoid carbonated drinks, I love the stuff.

On a more serious note, you (Glenn) are spot-on with regard to the city's budget. Doherty is a big spender, and that's not a good thing for a city with a structural budget deficit.

Relax, fellas. The fancy new Mulberry St. sidewalks and period lighting (what's "period lighting"?) Scranton will be getting from the University--instead of actual cash money--will go a long way toward solving our financial problems.

Overall, I don't mind the job Council is doing, the Evans anchor notwithstanding. But whoever thought that this was a good deal really Daved it up somewhere. Remind me next year when my tax bill comes to paint my fence and install a nicer porch light. That should ought to cover it.

The Costanzo - Piccolino connection?

I just walked in after a few drinks with friends at a Dunmore bar. I was told that the mother of Giovanni Piccolino's child might be none other than Charles Costanzo's daughter. Pretty good source. I don't know anything about Costanzo's daughter, but Costanzo's reputation precedes him. Piccolino might not be the sharpest tool in the shed after all. Or, is he sharper than we all know? Cousin arrested for serious drug conspiracy charges on page 3 and the grandfather of his child is on page 1. He's on ARD for a DUI. Nice day for the Piccolino family. Nov. 7th won't be any better. Who's this guy trying to kid?

To Giovanni Piccolino:
Seriously, is this the group of people you want to associate yourself with?

To the rest of the PD board:
Anyone want to bet on how long it take for a DeNaples-Piccolino connection to be made?

Piccolino - Bought cheap, totally owned

Sue Henry said it best, politics in this area is a blood sport. At this point, it can't be any other way. Giovanni Piccolino's blood flowth today. He's been bought, bought cheap and owned, and it didn't cost one American red cent. I know. I did the buying. Suffice it to say that I've warned all that there's a sneaky thief behind this poltical activist. I will suffer no guilt for what I did. As taxpayers who have had enough lies, deceit and masquerading, it was simply time to undress Piccolino and/or Rogan for who they really are. We needed to know. We owe it to ourselves to find out, however we could find out. There's too much on the line in this council race.

I've listened to Giovanni Piccolino speak at council. It didn't take long to realize the he's not educated. I hatched this plan from there. Motive - find out if Piccolino would sell out. To effect this devious plan, I needed Piccolino to come here. I had a friend put up a post challenging him to do so. Hmmm, his sister, Maria, responded. Not what I was looking for. Posts were then put up that we didn't want to hear from Maria, but from her brother. Actually, the poster Fletch did that not knowing the role he was playing in this plan (thanks Fletch). Bingo. Piccolino registered and put up a post responding to criticism of him. It was an absolutely autrocious post in a literal sense, and it fit into the plan perfectly. I edited it, (as indicated) making about 18 corrections to the post for spelling, punctuation and sentence construction. While doing that, he put up another brief post, which again, I edited by replacing the whole post using his name and password.

I PMed Maria and explained that I had to edit Piccolino's post, explaining there's an issue with his writing skills. Her response was that he's an intelligent man, but not a good writter. My response was that he'll be eaten alive on this board over his obvious literacy deficiency. Then, I made the offer. I offered to post on Piccolino's behalf. I offered to be Giovanni Piccolino to handle the challenging interactions with other posters. During that time, a few posts went up challenging Piccolino to expose his stance on various issues. Actually, Glenn Cashuric hit him several hard questions. A few more posts followed asking Piccolino his postion on other various sensitive issues. I had my wife contact Piccolino and advise him not to respond to the posts, explaining to him that the answers to the questions had to be articulated approriately on an intellectual level. I told him I'd do it for him. He agreed. Then, he called me back, asking if he could just respond to the question City Haul put up regarding the mayor creating new positions. I told him he could not respond, and that essentially, I will be Giovanni Piccolino from now until the election. I then put up responsive posts to Cashuric, City Haul and Fletch. I got a PM from Maria asking if I was posting on Piccolino's behalf. I PMed her back affirming that I will be doing the posting because Gio is incapable of doing so to his political benefit. She welcomed me aboard.

More posts went up with one questioning Piccolino's relationship to Mike Piccolino and his drug bust. I left it go unanswered. Then, other posts went up that I left go unaswered. Piccolino finally angily responded to the post that questioned his relationship to Mike Piccolino. You can see the distinct writing style between Piccolino's response to the post about his relations with Mike Piccolino and the responsive posts to Cashuric's, City Haul's and Fletch's posts. Actually, his post was a vast improvement over his original literal travesty. Another post or two went up inquiring about his position on taxes later last night, and while he was on a little after midnight, he didn't respond to them.

If I could take over Giovanni Piccolino's identity, he's a man without dignity, integrity or self-esteem. Actually, he's a man without identlty. To put it bluntly, he can easily be manipulated and positioned where other people want him. If I could manipulate him to deceptively advance his political benefit using no money or other considerations of monetary value, what happens if the money or some deal hits the table? I extend my humble apologies to Glenn Cashuric, City Haul and Fletch, but finding out the truth about the candidate named Giovanni Piccolino outweighed some necessary deception on my part.

Mr. Piccolino, you are a fraud. You are unworthy of any public trust. I want those signs off your building. Get your fraudulent, unworthy ass down to the courthouse and petition the court to withdraw. Go away. Show us the respect we deserve. If you stay, in the interest of honesty for the electorate, this incident will make its way into every mailbox in the city of Scranton. Ask Chris Doherty if I'm kidding. I'll publish it on every political blog in the NE, and then some. I will tell this story of public deception at city council. You should have backed out when asked the first time.

It's Rogan now. Only Rogan. I had a one hour conversation with him yesterday and talked myself horse trying to get him to drop out. He's adamant that he'll make the voters proud of their choice. I did everything I could to intimidate him. I pounded away at him for an hour insulting him as a too young and too inexperienced, among other things. He maintained himself through it all, never insulted me back and stood his ground without raising his voice one time.

In the name of truth for all concerned voters, no extra charge. My pleasure.

By the way, the serial-plaintiff says:
"...My response was that he'll be eaten alive on this board over his obvious literacy deficiency..."

Literacy deficiency? Pilchesky, my God, that's three quarters of your board!! Granma, for example, writes at about a third grade level.

Postscript...I see that parts of the Pilchesky tirade were also posted by Paul under a different thread. While normally we shouldn't repeat pastes from DD, I think we should keep both in this instance, as both tell slightly different stories.

The truly intriguing part is that Pilchesky's post says far more about HIM than it does Giovanni Piccolino.

To our DD visitors (and we know you come here often): Pilchesky just proved that he has no problem deceiving and manipulating. What makes you think this doesn't happen all the time at DD?

Oh, and this was my 1,000th posting on PD. What could be a better topic for such a milestone?

How many times has this son of a bitch done something like this and not come forward to gloat about it? We all know that he edits post to read the way he wants them to read, but to actually assume someone's identity - let alone a political candidate? And then tell them - NO YOU CAN'T POST UNDER YOUR REGISTERED NAME - I'LL DO IT FOR YOU." Granted, "Gio" probably enjoyed this hand job, but this stunt should be the catalyst to knock this whackjob off that self-erected pedestal. I had not a lick of respect for him from the get-go, but this son of a bitch deserves an 8x8 jailcell.
