I think it is funy that a dozen or so people habe so much time on there hands. they sit together and badger everyone. Does everyone know what happened to Habitat for Humanity??? I do.idea

Doomers ... we have a thread that concerns Habitat for Humanity ... feel free to add to it if you have any information ... but remember that here at PD ... it's all about proof ...

We welcome your input as a few of our members had requested information on this particular topic. Habitat for Humanity ... what's the story ... What happened? We also have a thread about the Taxpayers Association ... What are your thoughts on the taxpayers Association?

if i remember correctly, Habitat for Humanity rehabbed the house in North SCranton for the family with a zillion kids and then were featured on national TV for the project. well, if anyone else remembers, they couldn't keep it clean enough for human habitation, couldn't keep the utilities on and couldn't stop having children. in fact, their children started having children. they were evicted and i believe it became a very big black eye, especially after the nationwide coverage. Mr. Quinn was running Habitat for Humanity and that time and soon after was not. Habitat for Humanity was temporarily disbanded in this area after these incidents. will try to find news articles relating to this fiasco.

I love the concept of the Union News as an objective source of information. No offense to any union members out there (and my wife is a member of the SFT by the way), but the Union News is biased by design. I read stuff in the Union News with the same filter that I use whenever I read anything put out by Heritage Foundation.

As for the grand petition, I'm sure the Times Leader will jump at the prospect of serving Lackawanna County once they see that such local luminaries C. Moore Butz, Al Kaholic, I.P. Freely and Homer Sexual have signed on.

Thanks IHave...you are correct.

I was just busting on one of DDs sacred cows, the Union News. Actually I have nothing against unions of their newspapers...I just think that when reading such a publication, you have to realize that it has a particular bias. Claiming that it is an unbiased source of information (which DDers claim all the time) is just plain stupid.

Sure they are biased ... they are reporting from the perspective of a Union worker ... they will always take the Unions side ... and I am Union and I will tell you right out ... Unions are not always right ... but most Union people will not admit to this ... I however do not go through life with the blinders on ... All things must be looked at from all sides ... not just one side ... the name alone ... tells you that they are biased!

This is a group of anti everything screw balls about a hand full of them. Can anybody say Habait for Humanity remember the scandal. People paid rent for their homes and were not credited with payments going toward ownership. They were suppose to have a Mortgage but never recieved the deads and the leader OZZIE said it was a problem with the Attorney they were trying to find one pro bono. After that he was gone.

Does anyone know who won the 50/50 raffle the association was selling and how much $$ the winner actually received???? Also, did Wizzy ever pay the Keyser Vvalley Comm Assoc for his group using the center for their meeting (s)? I believe they charge members $100 and non-members $150 - the Taxpayers Assoc is not a member. They are in need of funds for their parking lot and many other repairs/improvements and are asking the city for funds. They are in no position to be allowing use free of charge. The members pay dues and they cannot use it free - it's not fair - in fact, it's discrimination! They absolutely should not be using council chambers for their meetings as they are not part of city government - in fact, they are a handful of Doomers, troublemakers, bashers & haters. They need to move their meetings to the gutters in front of Wizzy's house.

There is alot more to the Habitat story, if only the other workers would speak up maybe the real story would get out. I have heard a lot of rumors, and until I can verify them, I will not repeat them, but I will be investigating and calling alot of favors in to get the truth here.. hummmnnn interesting

Thank you Taylor that is what will always make us very different from DD. We have no problem with the truth (assuming it is relevent to the public officials work) it's rumor mongering which puts the hair up on the back of our necks. I thank you for respecting us in this matter. :)
