She was incensed over the $35MM bond and Courtright's introduction of it without knowing a damn thing about it -- is Billy now bought and paid for? Sure looks like it.
Why introduce it at all? Because there are only 2 meetings left before the recess -- someone must want this right now.
First CRF, now this $35MM bond. Is Billy beginning to show his true colors?

Well now that they brought this up across the hall, it's time for a mere mention.. It looks like Bill is starting to get ready for his appointment as CITY TAX COLLECTOR, yes folks you heard it here first, good ole Billy is being mentioned very very seriously ato replace Mcdowell after he leaves for the county job....

I'm not sure Bill Courtright knows what he wants to be when he grows up. On one hand I think the guy really does vote with his head on most issues. That doesn't mean that I agree with all of his votes, but he does seem to think things through for the most part; contrast this with Janet Evans, who has a decision process that works like this: Part 1 - Decide where the Mayor stands on an issue Part 2 - Vote the opposte way Part 3 - Repeat as necessary On the other hand this guy turns a blind eye far too often to the antics of council regulars and the Pilchesky-crew. Rather than doing what is right, namely taking a public stand against the Pilchesky sponsored and encouraged hate mongering, he plays it safe and instead mumbles his way through statements about how he "doesn't look at those things" (message boards). To that I say... A) I don't believe that he doesn't read them & B) Failing to condem horrible personal attacks is the SAME as encouraging them. As far as him becoming Tax Collector, I could honestly care less. That's a marginal job at best, meaning that you can be successful at it simply by not screwing things up too bad. Something about Bill stinks. I don't know what it is exactly, but something is up.

Bill doesn't back Janet like he used to, and it seems that Bill and McGoff are a little too close. Janet is by herself, backed into a corner but fighting her way out. Bill is hugging and begging, but not questioning legislation and criticizing Mayor Doherty's spending. Bill has been in lala land the past few months (maybe longer). He has potential, but he just doesn't understand what is happening to this city.

Redevelopment isn't a problem for Bill. Rather, it is 'the way' that redevelopment is occuring that is the problem. I guess for Bill it is "how you go about doing things." My criticism of Bill is that redevelopment is always problematic, and there is no other way for it to happen but to take from the disadvantaged and give to well off. Redevelopment is about using taxpayer dollars to inflate property value and insulate the elite from decline.

Speaking of "how you go about doing things," it seems that our friend Mr. Miller and his mentor, Bob Bolus, are getting the shaft from Mayor Doherty. They should go back to the drawing board and come up with a better way of 'doing things.' I wonder, how do they like getting treated like an ANIMAL like the rest of us?

Does that mean that Bill Courtright doesn't understand ... could it be that he didn't understand ... but now ... he has become a free thinking individual who is listening to the majority of the citizens in the city of Scranton ... rather than the few Doomers and DD'ers who bitch about absolutely everything ... maybe he finally understands that you people are not the end of a political career ... well you are ... it's when the politician follows you all ... that's when they seem to lose ...so maybe he has figured this out finally ...YOU ALL ARE NOT THE MAJORITY!

i would truly like to know what Ms. Evans is responsible for during her time on Council. what has been accomplished? (besides the subpeona for things she never looked at) i volunteer for many community activities and have never seen her at any of them. if you are working for the people wouldn't you also HELP the people, no matter who they are? so, if anyone can tell me i would love to hear since i've been wondering for a few years what exactly she's done to make this city better. __________________

Both as a School Board Director and a Scranton City Council she has created choas and anger, other than that, I have seen nothing from her. If you find anything let me know as I would love to know myself what she has actually done that is positive. __________________ Hey Joey?? Bite me! :))

Wow... is all I can say after reading the thread concerning Billy Courtright ... because he voted a few time with the majority ... and because he introduced the legislation concerning the garage and didn't give Janut the second ... wow they have turned on him ... it's really sad ... __________________ I want everyone to stop and think about one thing ... I hope they get on his ass this thursday so he realizes what it is like when these idiots get all pumped up over somehitng. I hope Fay gets all nutty in him and screams about how she can say anything she wants. I hope they all do. Then he will realize what the others go through. I hope your right Tim ... About Janut being on her way out that is ... as for them getting on Bill Courtright ... hell I would not wish that on my worst enemy ... But I think he knows what it is that they are up to ... and I think he knows that they are turning on him ... What I would love to see is if they do turn on him this week ... that he is fully prepared and he gives them hell ... as he should ... who the F^ck does Fay think she is ... or any of the Doomers for that fact ... they go there with every intention of having the meetings shut down and they think it's quite funny when it happens ... now maybe Fay should be charged like Patilla was ... Been thinking about this for a few days before I commented. A few days later it's simple to me. Whatever kind of fence sitter Bill might be, he won't be Pilchesky's boy. (Like Janet) I'm not a fan of the guy. Never was, never will be. One thing I can respect though is him not bellying up to the Jonestown bar with the likes of Pilchesky. Paul I see your point ... I admire Bill for not bending to Pilchesky's will ... I really do ... I know now that he is there trying to do the right thing ... like Art ... I am not a fan of his politics ... but I have to say I have met the man and he is truly a nice guy ... I guess I just don't like to see anyone subjected to what they dish out across the hall and in the Legion of Doooooom! They go there with one intent .... it is only my opinion ... but I believe that they go with the intention of being as disruptive as they can be ... getting under the skin of the target of the week ... and trying to make a fool out of that person ... I just don't like to see it happen ... I guess that's why I haven't really been watching the meetings lately. The ridicule these people ... criticize them continuously ... but they never come up with a viable solution to the problems at hand ... they contribute to the problems of this town when they have the ability to be a part of the solution ...
