Quote | ReplyRE: Sam??? WHAT THE?
If police presence was customary in his neighborhood, that's the only factor to consider in this issue. In my neighborhood, there's never a cop in sight, car or bike. If a bike cop did appear on my block, and was doing figure 8's on a bike in front of my house, or cirlcing in front of my house, I'd feel like I was being taunted. However, I'd also wonder why. Why did they give Sam that special time and energy? It's hardly a mystery.

There's really no question why the cop was there. It was to bait Sam into doing exactly what he did. They got what they were looking for. They threw the lure out there and Sam bit. Gatelli knew he'd be ripe and she played him. Sam was the exact same way (loud) the week before, but with a completely different result when Courtright was behind the gavel. That's old stuff in this town, but I have a feeling that Sam will be around for a long time. I think he recognizes what happened, and I think he'll recover from it quite nicely. He'll be back. He got a taste of how they operate now. He should give them the credit they're due for how they did it and move on. If he doesn't appear at council with the attitude that they pulled one over on him, and it's a new day, then he'll give them more than they have coming to them. He needs to suck it up, bring a more controlled Sam to the meeting, and let them have it in a controlled manner. They've educated him. Let's see what he does with it. My money goes on him showing up a little retooled, adjusted and aware of his opponents appetite to play to the people. But, this is where the Doherty Administration fails. The meeting was a debacle, courtesty of Gatelli. Granted. But, the people love it. Every TV in the city will be tuned next week to hear and see Sam, and they'll want to hear and see Hubbard. It's a gift. Let's see if Sam and Dan can take full advantage of this gift.

Some observations:

***Sam goes nuts because he's paranoid and it's somehow Judy Gatelli's fault.

***Sam and Dan were targeted by the evil ICN and learned the hard way to be smart and composed like Joe. Can anyone say insanity?

***Does Sam live alone on his block? Did any other neighbor worry or flip out over the police officer hanging around the hood? No. Sam is nuts.

***I loved Dan's explanation in today's paper; "the cop bumped into me." I remember using that defense when I was little and got in trouble for punching my brother; "No dad, I was making a fist and Jimmy just ran into it - I didn't hit him."

***Everyone at dd.com and at council meetings are innocent. Anything they say or do that's inappropriate is someone else's fault. Except for Charlie Newcomb - apparently the ICN got to him and he's changed sides.

I could go on forever. This is a mockery of our civil way of being part of a society. I'd like to hear GC's comments on this - I'm starting to think that he's an apologist for the LOD and dd.com. He seems to ignore the basic reality of the situation; we're dealing with some fairly unstable people here. People have been attending and speaking out at Scranton City council meetings for decades, but before Joe Pilchesky got involved no one ever had to be arrested, removed or file a lawsuit. DD.com has single handedly lowered the IQ of the the council audience to that of the mentally challenged. The behavior speaks for itself. I know, it's all Judy's fault though, right?

I think we're dealing with the kids in high school who had fantasies about beating up the popular kids. Columbine comes to mind when I look at that nuthouse.

just a little ditty I picked up across the hall
::: ... The still retain anonymity in posting here relating to the other posters. They can still say what they want. It is only if they cross the 'legal' line with threats, harassment, and libel that they may be identified through due process for anyone wanting to pursue legal action.

I will delete any message that is nonsensical, or that does not conform to the standards set forth in the posting rules.

Our effort is to disseminate information to the voting citizens of Scranton, and in that pursuit, will adhere to certain standards.

I must say, they've sure pitched that code of ethics out the window, haven't they?

on the subject of banning Doherty posters, Pilcheski has the following to say

::: ... And all of them argue that they're freedom of speech has been either denied or compromised. They seem very angry. Most do not like that they feel "left out" of the party because they support Doherty. Nothing stops anyone from registering and posting a politically related issue, opinion or fact. I will, however, stop them from posting non-issue posts that are personal attacks in nature, as I have already had to do numerous times. Love that ban button.

To all Doherty supporters: The welcome mat is out. Raise your issues, plead your case, bring your facts, make intelligent counter-points. How do you like the park pics so far? Many more to come over the next couple days. And, it gets worse. Then, it's onward to the zoning office and Mr. Wallace, who has been patiently waiting for me for some time now. :::

I tried to register sometime last year with a screen name which denoted Janet Evans. It was neither vulgar, negative, derogatory or pornographic - it basically stated I didn't care for her. Pilcheski never authorized the membership. But he has authorized multiple forms of vulgar, maniacal and disgusting anti-doherty usernames and allowed posters to use horrible terroristic avatars.

That says "playing nice" to me, alright. Hypocrite!!!

and from our friend anti - before he got his Irish up

::: ... Again, concise messages that are easy to access give the board credibility and you, as an administrator, more control. I trust that you will not censor people without a really good reason. I think creating a new board ... :::

I would imagine this does not include the "schnizzle" and the "hecky-shecky azzz" posts from their new resident hothead (and also anything Granma has to say).

"without a really good reason" ??
This must be the explanation for Fays missing name and address and all the 'typo' corrections we've been seeing lately.
