Shoobie Doobie Doo folks, it seems as though there has been a change of heart across the hall as far a presenting yourself in the proper manner when you choose to put yourself in the public eye.
check out the paraphrase from the old man in reply to a post about Lee Morgan running for office
::: Lee's passion is in the right place, but politics isn't just about passion. It's about thinking. It's about planning and scheming. It's about electability. He's been at the podium enough times to make a respectable appearance, i.e., without the hooded sweater. Not all the time, but sometimes, the voters have to be impressed with a little self-esteem in the form of packaging. If I showed up in court wearing a hooded sweater every time, Harhut would be more right than wrong about me. I'd be removed from either Commonwealth or the Supreme Court and told to make myself presentable. Voters can be very impacted by visuals as well as speaking articulately and spontaneously. A well dressed Lee Morgan over the last year would have made him a front runner in this race. You're not going to convince anyone you can lead if you can't convince them that you can dress the part, shave and comb your hair. Looking as presentable as possible is a way of asking others to pay attention to what you're saying and actually listening to your message, as opposed to hearing it. He's a very bright man, indeed, but apparently refuses to process what the whole package is about as a candidate. For candidates, dressing appropriately is a subliminal way of asking for your vote, and it works. He's a good looking guy in good shape who would clean up beautifully. When we want to sell our cars, we spiff them up. When we really want to impress a women, we spiff it up. If you want to sell yourself..... :::
Jeez Louise -- clean up?? comb his hair?? shave?? Are we talking about the same guy?? Cripes, when Hubbard does comb his hair and shaves he looks like a Pee Wee Herman wannabee (look where that got PeeWee). And now it seems as though they've got Carson Kresley himself on the "Spruce Up Lee Morgan" case. I wonder if the Gay Blade did a girly ""oh ...my ...Goddd"" when he laid his baby blues on Morgan. The way they sing Morgan's praises over there, I wonder if Carson swooned when he measured Good Old Lee's inseam for the pair of Armani trousers.
Hmmm, and I just wonder why there is so much care being taken across the hall lately. They are correcting grammar on a daily basis and clarifying posts and scraping up all the crayon and wite-out marks from their monitors - and now, all of a sudden they're sprucing everyone up in their Sunday best. Won't they all make such a pretty picture on election day -- Janet in her gabardine and Joe in his Cox - oops, I mean searsucker suit.
And that part in red? To me, that translates to "shine up the vette, but what's under the hood needs an overhaul". I would imagine that translates to all of your candidates too, old man.

Who will be next on the list? Patilla? Spindler? Franus? Sister Kate? Oops Sorry -- the Queer Eye guys only work on men. Take Sister Kate off the list.
Well Art when it comes to looking like a dick who would know better than Curley Joe Pilchesky!

Next thing you know the LoD tee shirts will be coming out in a series of trendy spring colors...and for those special events, perhaps there will be a 'painted neck tie' version as well.

That would be for them there special events ... like when they run for office they can give the appearance of being all spiffed up ... good idea ... the Doomers with a more professional look ... I love it ... and for black tie events maybe they could get one of them there fake tux looking tee shirts ... wouldn't that be special ... they would be good for all kinds of events ... hell they could wear them to weddings ... great idea Ag!

I want to know why Cyberlion/Sam Patilla does not have a shirt ... was it because he was not a resident at the time the did the shirts ...
How about him last night ... I wish these people would get things straight ... City Council if for City Business Only ... School Board Meetings would be the place that he should address the fact that there are only 10 minority employees out of all the School District employees.
But that's going to change ... he will make sure of that ... and you know what I don't have a problem with that at all ... bring in the minority employees ... but Sam ... why not start with this question ... How many minorities have applied for positions? And then ask How many minorities were qualified and turned down for positions? And then if and only if qualified applicants have been turned down for positions go on the attack ... that would be understandable ... but you can not just ask how many minorities are employed and become agitated when the number is not to your liking. Maybe they have not applied! One must apply for the position in order to get the position.
The other thing that gave me a chuckle was this ... He stated that as soon as the election is over he will go about having Sherry Fanucci removed from office and he will have her replaced by a minority ... well Sam ... I know you are smarter than that ... hell it's not up to you ... it's up to all of the people ... who died and made you king of the world ... Here is the thing ... in order for a Minority to sit up there ... they will have to either be appointed or elected ... you are not part of the appointment process ... and well the people of Scranton will decide as a whole (not just you) who will be elected ... Now I have nothing against a minority sitting up there ... my only hope is that the person who takes a seat up there will do their very best to keep the best interests of the city in their mind and in their heart.
Remember the best thing for the city is not always the popular thing ... you Mr. Patilla want a puppet to sit up there and do the popular thing and to hell with what is good for the city as a whole ... that is the way all of the DD'er and Doomers think ... I however do not like higher taxes (in fact I hate it) ... but sometimes I have to sit back and see the big picture ... see that people are trying to bring our town back to it's glory of yesteryear ... so we can have a future ... that's what counts in the end! Is it easy .... No it's not ... can I live with it ... well yes I can ...
Remember also that you can make a point in a strong dignified manner ... treat people the way you yourself would want to be treated and you will be amazed at the results you can achieve ... it's really quite amazing.

By the time he is stepping away from the podium, he's in his Jesse Jackson / Al Sharpton mode. The slapping of the podium is getting a little o-l-d. It would be a whole other matter if he was actually making a point.
His behavior mimics that of a 3 year old in a toy store wanting everything in sight ... and when they don't get it ... they start throwing a tantrum ... hoping that the yelling and screaming ... the thrashing about (in his case ... balling up his fists and slamming them on the podium) will get them their way ... it isn't going to work Patilla ... your not little and cute ... besides it rarely works for 3 year olds ... what makes you think it will work for you ...

I have an idea - maybe we could get Sister Adrian to come in during one of his rants, reach through that rat's nest of dredlocks and drag him out by the ear. Is he one of the "ones" she brought here? (If I say it that way, does it make me a racist?)
I'm sure that he is ... he claims to be a taxpayer ... well he does not own the house ... it's his girlfriends house ... so if he does not own the house ... what taxes is it that he is paying ... because judging from his posts which come in at all different times of the day I would say he does not work ......... ulesssssssssss ............ well ........ is he posting on company time ... that would be considered theft of services Sammy .... I don't think you ought to be doing that ... but somehow I don't think that you work!

My husband had a theory - the dredlock kid made a comment at a meeting that he was out and about at an early morning fire, and another time at a pre-dawn hour in a different part of the city. He's either a cab driver or he delivers newspapers.
I would have to go with newspapers ... and let me tell you why ... I do not think that he would dedicate himself to the amount of time that it would consume driving the Cab ...
A Cab driver works 12 hour shifts ... 6 days per week ... so if this guy were in a cab ... for that amount of time ... how would he be able to post as he does ... just a thought ... so I would have to say that it is my opinion that he must be a paper boy ... seems to fit his busy posting schedule!

Shouldn't be too hard to confirm, just call circulation and say he is your carrier but you don't have his phone number and you need to contact him about suspending delievery for a day or two as you are going out of town. They probably won't give you the number but if he doesn't work in circulation they will say sorry he is not a carrier here, if he does they will probably just say leave your message with us and we will pass it on to him. :))
Did he actually give his address as 634 Genet Street at council last night? Hmmm, I wonder why he felt the need to do that? Do you think he reads the posts on this board? Was he simply being considerate by supplying us with an address? Maybe we can get alot more accomplished this way.
1. Stop slapping the podium. 2. Get a haircut. 3. Make one point at a time. 4. Not everyone is versed in ebonics - speak English. 5. Get a haircut. 6. Pay attention to what is being said before YOU speak. and lastly, you just might be an ok guy, so 7. Find yourself a new set of friends.
I had to chime in here......He DOES NOT OWN the house, he and his significanat other, rent it....Also he DID NOT VOTE, I happen to know someone at the voting place where he is supposed to vote, but his girlfriend/wife DID vote and they had a big fight down there and he left and made her walk home.......
Is he even registered to vote? Has he identified himself as a homeowner? $150K is still a steep price to be paid for that small parcel of land, whoever bought it. It must be sitting on an oil pocket or something...
Come to think of it, did Pilchesky vote? There was an article a few weeks ago stating that he's been registered in Lackawanna County since 1999, but didn't actually exercise that right until 2005. Not very activist-like of him to say the least. Did he bother voting this year?
