No one emphasizes Joe Pilchesky's idiocy more than Joe Pilchesky himself. He shaved his own head bald - not the Times, he created his own public persona - not the Times and he is the one who made the big deal about 'winning one' - not the Times. The Times could care less about how to publicize that windbag.

Joe Pilchesky has made himself what he is today - a bald-ass, pseud-politico, who happens to look like Uncle Fester.

And if Mr. Cole wants to take pot shots at him like he does every other person, place and thing with a public image, well, it's his freedom of speech which allows him to do so, isn't it? Joe Pilchesky knows all about freedom of speech, doesn't he?? Media rag ?? - let me direct you across the hall, Jimmy...

To answer the very last question posed: YES THERE ARE...In fact, I'd go so far as to say that MOST on DD don't know much about US national politics, let alone French politics. Remember, this isn't something that one would hear on the scanner at 2am (so right off the bat we can scratch Granma off the list).

Oh, and I really do applaud 'EastOGreenRidge' for the attempt at starting a rational debate. However he is painfully wrong with his analogy in one glaring respect: Sarkozy is all for 'qualified' immigration, i.e. immigration is allowed provided that the immigrants bring needed skills to France. Chris Doherty, on the other hand, has been very supportive of immigrants coming to Scranton without any qualifiers.

Free Speech does't require a multi-paragrah disclaimer Mr. Pilchesky.
