The whole Dan Hubbard thing is very interesting in that I don't think the DD crew cares all that much about the guy or his issue* (how many postings do you see about Green Ridge flooding on DD??), but instead are desparate to find people to run for elected office who:

a) Don't have criminal records (cough, Pilchesky, cough)
b) Don't foam at mouth while speaking (cough, Franus, cough)
c) Don't actually appear to be psychotic while speaking (cough, cyberly'n padilla, cough)
d) Have an IQ north of 80

...so of course Hubbard is a big attraction. Personally I'm not entirely sure that Dan Hubbard is truly into the whole DD/LoD thing; I honestly think he is just a one issue kind of guy. Yes, he can get somewhat nuts while addressing his one issue, but he rarely speaks on anything else. Bottom line: if they gave Hubbard his flood control 'stuff', I think he would never appear at city council meetings again.

(*) As for Hubbard's issue, I have mixed feelings about municipal flood control projects. I do understand that people put their hearts and souls into a house, so loosing it or seeing it damaged has got to be painful. On the other hand, New Orleans should have taught us all that you can only fight mother nature for so long when it comes to controlling water systems (be they rivers, lakes, oceans, etc.). If an area is prone to flooding, then no matter what is done, eventually it will flood again. I think the far more prudent thing to do is to buy people out in flood prone areas, raise the structures, and allow the creation of natural flood plains. This just isn't the more prudent thing to do from a water management perspective, as it probably costs less in the long run to bite the buy-out cost now than to keep pouring money into stop gap solutions well into the future.

Big talk from a guy who is a tax-paying Scranton resident for how long? He's talking like he and Mayor Hanlon were buddies back in the day. This guy does not seem intelligent enough to do the kind of research to make the statements he's made about any of our elected officials. I wouldn't vote for Hubbard if you offered me a million dollars ... are they going to wage a massive write in campaign ... because if they are they better get on that paperwork ... I would hate to see him win (HA HA HA uncontrollable laughter) his write in campaign only to be sued by his mentor because he didn't file the right paperwork ... or who know someone else could file a lawsuit ... it's quite the trendy thing in Scranton these days ... suing politicians that is.

Paul for Council
Girl Thursday for Council (because there just aren't enough women up there now)
Art Gordon for City Controller
Agamenon for County Controller
IHaveHadEnoughHaters for County Commisioner

Now it's of the upmost importance that we get the above people elected ... I know that we are so powerful and influential that if we stick together on this one then we can make it happen ...

Now just how funny would that be to think that we have the power ... I just don't understand the crazy posts of the Cult Pilchesky ... I love the way the DD'ers make things up and think ... well they think that people will blindly believe what they say ... they think that what they write will be taken as gospel ... I found this one this morning as I had some time on my hands and decided to use a bit of it going through the crazy rants of the Nutbags across the hall.


I love the way this poster says she "was a great lady ... as far as I know she still is ... and isn't it funny that they now are claiming that the job is a bit much for her ... and why ... because they perceive her to be a Doobie ... and not for any other reason other than the fact that she gets along with the Mayor.)All of a sudden it's"well past time for her to leave ... they made this statement with 10 days to go before the primary election ... well that just goes to show me that none of these posters are as civic minded as they would have the entire city believe ... why in the world did they not come up with a viable candidate in the beginning of this race ... now what do they offer up ...Dan Hubbard this is the man who will most certainly be a one issue man ... I even saw her walk up a few steps to get in the place ... she didn't need any help to do these thins ... and well I just have to wonder where this poster got the idea that Roseanne could not get around any longer???? And if you mean that if he were a supporter of Chris Doherty you don't think that he would have sustained damage to his house due to flooding then think again ... because I don't think that Chris Doherty has the ability to control GOD! I know you DD'ers and Doomers think he can ... but that would take more than "Political Power" His plight is not being ignored by the city ... the Army Corps of Engineers is running the project ... so ... lets get real on this one ... although I do have to say it did take them a bit longer than it should have to clear the debris from under the bridge ... Just one last statement ... I work at Scranton High School and one day I heard this God Awful siren going off ... and well I guess it must have been the flood alarm from the plot ... because they claim that they do not have one in lower Greenridge ... now if I heard this at the High School ... then why the F U C K can't Danny Boy and his Mamma hear it in Lower Greenridge? Just a thought to end this post with!
