If you read the dd.com site you'd get the idea that everyone in the city thinks the way Joe and his merry band of sheep do.
I find it to be quite the opposite. In the circles I run in all I hear is people complaining about the website and anyone (read: Janet Evans' connection to it).
Granted, the people I talk to walk upright and have poseable thumbs, but I suspect I'm on to something here.
My question is: Does the Pilchesky site have exactly the opposite affect that it hopes for? Is his support for a candidate the kiss of death? If he's attacking you do you get a sympathy or "I'll show him" vote.
Consider that the typical DD voter is completely ignorant of where any candidate stands and is votingbased on who knows who. "There's a Semian & Gress sign in a yard on the same block as the high school prom date of Doherty's third grade teacher's mechanic. I don't know if it's in the same yard but that's good enough for me NOT to vote for those two! I don't even care what office they're running for."
The gay cabalero and his posters do not have the best interests of the city in mind. I give the rest of the voters in this town/county the benefit of the doubt.
DD supported candidates, with the exception of Courtright (if he has their support this week; I lose track sometimes) will not even make it out of the primary.
Art, I think you are exactly right. Having Pilchesky on your side is like the kiss of death. Even Miss Clairol only admits to having been in his company once or twice. She won't admit to even knowing about his message board, let alone posting on it, although many of us know definitively that she does - frequently.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Pilchesky wanted so badly to be on the "Save Buona Pizza" bandwagon but when Picolino didn't fall for his crap, Pilchesky slammed him and keeps it up by referring to him as simply - the pizza man. The same thing happened when he wanted to be the savior for the demise of the smoking ban. He wanted to be associated with ANY local watering hole. Just how many pub owners jumped at THAT chance? Any?
If the regular guy sees through his crap, anyone worth his salt in politics will absolutely know enough to turn and run in the other direction from this whackjob.
I think most people don't give a $hit about serial-plaintiff Pilchesky. The people on this board have taken the time to learn just how much of a nut-bag this guy really is, but I think the average person (if they even know about him) just knows him as that "crazy guy who files all the lawsuits".

Well now they'll know him as the guy who got Cordaro knocked off of the ballot. It will be interesting to see the response. Something tells me that the backlash will be huge and he'll win the write-in.
People don't like it when one head case with too much time on his hands forces change. I'm not implying that Cordaro didn't deserve it, just stating that Joe doesn't sit well with the general public.
Here's where the local pols have to decide who is running the show. If they want Cordaro to win, they'll need to work very hard to make that happen. It can be done - and if they're successful it will pretty much reduce Joe to what he always has been - an angry wannabe.
Problem now is the guy feels empowered. Only a few days ago he was crying about how he was going to dump everything because there were no "men" in the city.
Now I'm sure he is re-energized.
For what it's worth, he looked completely idiotic on the news last night. Someone needs to tell him the Miami Vice look ended 20 years ago.
Not even considering that Joe was behind getting Cordaro off the ballot, I have to say that I'm happy. Cordaro is a lying pompous ass, and I hope this ends his days as a county commissioner.
I don't care about Cordaro and wouldn't have voted for him - I just hate seeing Joe thumping his chest like he has a clue. He stepped in sh!t - Cordaro made it easy for him - plain and simple.
On the bright, side Joe played this card the only time it will ever work. From now on you know every candidate will be scouring their petitions for accuracy. Joe will have to do some real work to knock someone out of office - remember, he hasn't done that yet.
I'm calling it a lisp as well - but it's an impediment of some sort for sure. Maybe a lisp with a bit of a Marvin the Martian affect in his voice. I thought he looked like a turtle, but penis works for me ( and him).

Art ... this could really work for Codaro ... now this is only my opinion ... but imagine this ... Not only will Codaro be able to get the Republican vote on a write in campaign ... he will now have what none of the others have ... he will be able to also pick up Democratic votes as a write in candidate ... this very well could be to his advantage ... I do believe that he will have a very aggressive write in campaign and well he could possibly win on both tickets. Now wouldn't that just drive Joey the Pil over the edge ... Could be the thing to get him to move right out of the damn state ... I'm not in favor of Cadaro but I do know more than a few dems who like him and there are a hell of a lot of Yankee fans who absolutely love him right now ... Joey may have just handed the commissioners race to Bob Codaro

I don't think it's likely, but assuming Munchak and Codaro get the most Republican votes and then Cordaro manages to finish at least second for the Democrats Joe winds up derailing the Democratic process. Paul alluded to all of this in an earlier post in a different way - bu the theory is the same; Joe serves no one by doing this but himself and his massive ego. Stay tuned, this could go very badly for Joe in the coming weeks.
Ya know, a Washo-Cordaro Democratic ticket doesn't sound half bad, IMO. I hope Joe feels a little tightness in his chest every time a Democrat finishes typing in Cordaro's name.
I have to say, it will be the ultimate kick in the teeth for Pilchesky, etal if Cordaro does pull this thing off.
It won't be me, but there might be one or two people out there who will write in Cordaro's name hoping to see Pilchesky throwing an aneurism as he stomps around lower Green Ridge.
I think I'll do it just for the primary and let the general election decide things. I can't believe it, but out of spite I'll probably write in a Cordaro vote.
Well we all seem to be in agreement here because the more I think about it ... the more I think that's what I am going to do ... just to put Curley Joe over the edge!
