RE: On Retaining Judges Harhut and Corbett
We don't have any 'for the people' judges on the bench. Harhut is long rumored to be a lover of Senator Bob Mellow, who is recently divorced after a life in the closet, just not with the door shut. Screw Harhut. He's been a horror in Family Court to many people who left the courthouse in tears over his terrible rulings. he HAS GOT to go. I don't know much about Corbett, but she is well-liked in many circles on a social level. These people (if you can call them people) amaze me on a daily basis ... what does a judges sex life have to do with the way he does his job ... is it going to influence his rulings? I don't think so! I see that they have made other points in this post (probably a poor attempt to cover up the homo-phobia that they suffer from) but the point one makes first is usually the most important ... and the end is usually an after thought ... so here we have this individual who is judging someone on a rumored sexual affair ... Come on ... lets get real ... if they are lovers ... so what ... I hope they are happy ... what does this have to do with anything?
Just one last thought ... are there ever two happy parties exiting family court ... I'm thinking no ... most often both parents want custody and well a decision must be made ... so ... there are more than likely going to be unhappy people exiting the court ... tears more than likely will fall ... it's a sad fact of life. And unless we are in that courtroom and hearing the evidence presented ... how do we know that he is making the wrong decisions ... I'm sure that each individual in this situation thinks that they are right ... so ... all I can say is family court must be an absolute nightmare ... and you will never completely satisfy all parties involved ... I do not think I could do his job or would want to ever have his job ... this is just my opinion!

As much as it pains me to sound like I could even partly agree with anything from Joe P, I have to disagree on Mellow. I don't know for a fact if he is gay or had gay affairs over the years, but I can say that those rumors were flying around years before DD or even the internet for that matter. Granted, they are just rumors, and I have no idea if the rumors are true...but if that rumor has persisted this long and from so many different unrelated sources, I'd have to think that there may be a modicum of truth to them. Personally, I couldn't care less if someone is gay, but I have no respect for someone who has a wife and children and cheats....whether the affair be gay or straight. And personally, I think Mellow has been in office way too long and is way too comfortable....I would be in support of term limits to keep some fresh ideas rolling in.
As for Harhut being his "lover," or Harhut being gay...I've never heard that one until Joe P started it at DD. So I wouldn't give any credence to that one.
I don't care if you're a gay politician or judge, just like I don't care if your a hopelessly deranged psychopath who thrives off of fear, intimidation and lies.
On second thought, I don't care about the judge and the politcian, the wack-job I care about. He's got to go.
Sam ... I am not defending Mellow ... I am saying what in the world does Harhut being gay or not being gay have to do with him being a judge.
I don't care if Mellow is gay either ... none of my business ... I don't like affairs either but ... my motto is simply this ... I have not lived a perfect life, there is not a person in this world who has ... and those who live in glass houses should not throw stones ... It is not my place in this world to judge anyone ...

I do however comment on the judgements the DD crew have passed ... so is that the same thing? Well Sam, you have me thinking now!

Here we go .... now we are dragging down judges that have absolutely nothing to do with Joe ...
the famous DD line: "You know what I heard!"
Court WatchdogPosts: 18Date: Wed Mar 28 10:58 AM, 2007Views: 953Quote | ReplyRE: On Retaining Judges Harhut and Corbett I'd have to do some asking around and checking of records, but I was told many times that Trish Corbett never passed the Bar Exam and was never a lawyer, even though she worked as an ADA. I've also heard she had a substance issue back in the day.
Now I could be wrong ... but do you or do you not have to pass the bar in order to be an ADA ... again maybe I watch Law and Order more than I should ... but the ADA's are lawyers ... and practicing lawyers must pass the bar ... and again ... I could be wrong ... don't you have to be a lawyer in order to be a judge? I could be wrong ... maybe all you need is a law degree ... someone ... help me out here.
And again yet another ... "I heard" moment .... they heard she had a substance abuse problem in the past .... well if she did aren't the keywords here "In the PAST!" hmmmmmmmmm .... Joey you and your posters better be careful ... your gonna bring down your own glass houses throwing those stones!

In my mind, the performance of Bob Mellow as a State Senator is completely separate from what Bob Mellow does in his personal life (unless that private life involves breaking the law). So on that basis I never vote for the man, mainly because he has not delivered in a substantial way to this area.
The funny part in this is the whole DD take on Mellow...they just can't turn away from a rumor, can they? It's like a wino desperate for some booze...they just can't resist. Right now they are in the 'wino eating sterno phase'.

well in family court there will not be two happy parties ... someone didn't get what they wanted ... and that is not the judges fault ... I would imagine that he is trying to make the best decision he can and that he is looking towards the best interests of the children who are involved ... he's not worrying about making adults happy ... he has to worry about what is right for the children ...
