I'm ashamed to say that my wife and I watch the council meetings with great anticipation that Ray Lyman, Jimmy Stuckart, Ronnie Elman, and Les Spindler will come to the mic. Ronnie is an intelligent guy that says alot of meaningful things in a funny way. The rest are just funny - except for Les, he's nasty. God bless them (can I say that here!!!). Oh, and the prayer lady - and Rev. Simmons - what a cast - we could run that as a sequel to "The Office" - in fact, The Office should open with Ray at the mic.
You're right though - if someone is just going to run on an anti-DO platform, that's not the right reason.

God bless this guy...although he is using the wrong TV show; I'm thinking City Council Meetings are more like Jerry Springer. He also neglects to mention Fay 'Foam@Mouth' Franus...speaking of people who are just nasty.

It seems to me Ag that the DD posters are not all for Bolus, Morgan and Sbraglia (sp?) ... seem to me that they actually don't really think very much at all of any of these candidates ... I read the Bolus and the Lee Morgan threads and I get that they don't like these 3 guys and they feel that the only thing that they will accomplish is to steal votes from Courtright ... and I was actually surprised to see that Gary DiBileo isn't running again ... after his council appearance I thought for sure he was going to give it a go again.

I was however surprised that the DD'ers don't think as much as people thought they did of these guys!

What other reason is there? Running on an anti-DOherty agenda is just what the city needs. DOherty's agenda has DOne wonders for our finances. Lately our PERSONAL finances.

Bo (Stulgris) thinks that the best reason to vote for someone is that they are Anti-Doherty.    I guess she thinks that's what is going to get her to the negotiating table ... I guess that's what she thinks is going to get the raise for the SPD and SFD ... I think that it should be about more than being Anti Doherty ... personally I do not care if they are with the Mayor ... but what I don't want to see is someone (who doesn't even reside in Scranton) who is soley there for the purpose of voting against any and all of the Mayors ideas ... that's wrong ... I want someone who loves this city ... who is interested in the best interests of our city .... and I can tell you that Lee Morgan is not that person.  I don't believe that he is running for any other reason other than the fact that they condemed his property ...

Now if you look back in history through the minutes of the School Board Meetings ... back when they were building the new Scranton High School you will find where Mr. Morgan made reference to Adolf Hitler ... and Mr. Morgan was an admirer of Adolf Hitler ... I do believe that he was asked to leave the meeting that he was speaking highly of this dictator because it was so offensive to the people who were at the meeting ... so what does that say about him personally?  And might I add is this someone who we would want to have representing our city?  I think not!  Mr. Morgan is against progress of any type ... and Mr. Morgan is against anything that would involve a tax increase of any kind for any reason ... I'm not saying I like paying more in taxes ... but sometimes even when I don't like it ... it's necesary!  I understand that ... Mr. Morgan will not be a friend to the Unions as these people believe ... he will become their worst nightmare .... and all I can say to this is be careful what you wish for ... you just may get it in the end!

Just because someone gives the appearance of being intelligent does not make them an intelligent person ... this is something that we all know ... isn't it?  He sometimes makes some very valid points ... I will give him that but usually he is only there to be a trouble maker ... an instigator ... I have watched him in action for many years now and he is only out for what is best for himself ... not the best interests of this city ....

So Ann Marie before you pull that lever (I know you don't pull a lever anymore it's a figure of speech) think long and hard if the best reason to vote for him is simply because he is against Doherty ... then that's not a good enough reason to give away your vote!

I am sorry that I rambled again!  Just something to think about!

When I have time I will go through the minutes of the SSD meetings.

Now now Lus, I think the lever pulling thing is fine.  From what I hear the problem has more to do with a finger or two.  She can do that with the palm of her hand.

I am glad the camera's were turned off.  How much longer did you want the city of Scranton to embarrass themselves.  What a collection of uneducated and unshowered trash bags.  If you are going to speak at a meeting, it should be mandatory that you have showered within the last month at least once.  I get more and more embarrassed as a taxpayer everytime I watch one of those meetings.  Are these the only people in Scranton who care to go to these meetings?  Do you have to be unemployed to attend?  What a joke and a complete embarrassment.  Keep applauding and wearing your T-Shirts, but the majority of the people of this city are laughing at you, and are embarrassed that this who is representing "The People" of Scranton.  It looks more like the people from the Twilight Zone.

Your right not all are drunk on hate and it is quite refreshing to see a post come out of that site.  I agree and have posted in another thread just how embarrassed I am to have Ray Lyman on YouTube.  How does it feel when people from all over are watching ... I know that I hate that Ray represents what people think we are ... and although it's not a nationwide broadcast ... people tune in to the council meetings for their weekly dose of Comedy TV, there isn't a better one on TV ... I am one of the people that think less has been accomplished in this town since channel 61 was on the scene ...
