I sent out Instant messages inviting some of the posters from Thanks for the Scranton Cheerleading! - Pennsylvania - City-Data Forum.  From this Forum we have gained one new member.  SamVit ... Welcome SamVit.

Thanks!! I visited the site and registered. My registration is still pending. I would like to propose a sub-discussion forum called something like "Scranton Revitalization." Here we can talk about the various initiatives underway (business, cultural, recreational, etc.) to help improve the quality of life in Scranton. We can also introduce our own ideas for new initiatives, which could include some lively brainstorming. This way, the site can serve several major purposes that all point in a positive direction:

1. Enlightening others to the divisiveness of people like Pilchesky and his cronies.
2. Educating and informing on the good/bad/ugly of Scranton/Lackawanna politics.
3. Providing an informational resource dedicated to the growth and prosperity of Scranton and NEPA.



Lets spread the word where and when we can ... I know there are more out there like us who don't like the message that DD is putting out there. 

Like I said let me know if any of you want a sub forum and I will create it for you ...

PS .... I shoveled my car out ... it was not stuck in my driveway ... it was one of those stuck on a side street ... and I thank the anonymous gentleman who helped me get out!  There are still good people in this world!

   Thanks, "LusOnlyVoice" for the warm welcome! I realize that I may come off to some on City-Data as being "snotty" or "spoiled", but I'm actually just your typical middle-class white kid from the 'burbs with a love for the city and an optimistic outlook on life and NEPA in general. Just because I'm an Idealist by nature doesn't mean that I'm "not credible." LOL! I'm not blind to the problems facing our city (Yes, I consider myself, as a suburbanite, to be able to show Scranton my appreciation, contrary to what the crowd at DohertyDeceit said about me on City-Data). However, I think it's time that Scrantonians stop merely bitching about the city, as they have for decades, and start to come together to

brainstorm ideas and implement them to making our city the best that it can be! If more of you on here think that my hometown of Pittston somehow bars me from membership or community involvement, as the DD crowd implied, then I'll leave you be. However, at this pivotal time in Scranton's history, I think the city needs all the inspiration, hope, support, and guidance it can garner from city-dwellers and suburbanites alike! Thanks for letting me be a part of this exciting new forum!
