Shari was it a lie that the DA's office was contacted ... because I clearly remember seeing Andy Jarbola on the television saying that his office was looking into it ... I do believe that it was on channel 16 ... now I'm not exactly sure if that was the first tme she felt threatened by all of you at DD ... or if it was this time ...

I am going to just say this to you ... who are you to say what makes another person feel threatened ... what you are afraid of may not be what frightens me ... so who are you and who is Joe Pilchesky to say what makes Judy Gatelli feel threatened? I am just wondering ... you don't have to answer if you don't want.

I am a nobody who takes an issue and researches it. I'm quite sure that if I were a council person and I hate the sight of rabbits, and someone comes to the podium deliberately wearing a rabbit on their shirt, or post negative things about me on a web site using a rabbit avatar, and I scream "THREATS", I, as Judy, will be laughed out of court and be sued, just like she is. She's screwed over this. Instead of apologizing for being an *******, she counter sues. SHe had to, to make the perception that she didn't lie in the first place. I'm a firm believer that when the hole keeps getting deeper, take the shovle off of the nit wit that's digging. They just can't help themselves.

If she is laughedout ofcourt I am sure it will mean she was wrong, however if Joey is laughed (as he has been) out of court it's because he got "screwed" and the courts are "biased and corrupt" right? Interesting perspective!

I thought you were in favor of going to court to clearup a rumor? It is, as you have proposed, the only way someone who believes they have been slandered or libeled can clear their name right? So if she goes to court to clear her name, as you say everyone can and should, she is an *******, but if she doesn't go to court it means she is guilty as charged. Wow!! Another interesting prespective! Sounds a lot like the mentality of the salem witch hunts, if you drowned you were innocent, if you swam and lived you were a witch. Either way you were screwed. And you want others to think like you do? No thanks!

Let me put it this way. Judy deceives people by saying one thing and doing another. Judy caused our taxes to increase and did nothing to stop it. Judy started getting taken to task at council meetings. Judy didn't like the pressure, so Judy started her "threat" lies and jumped on anything she could perceive or "imply" as a threat. Then she starts to backpeddle, when the press found out she never complained to the DA (like she or Minora stated)or never filled out a complaint with the police (as stated). Then she's berated for lying about the whole thing in the media and the story changes again. Then she makes that assinine statement about Pilchesky and Evans "conspiring" to threaten her. During this fiasco, Doherty says she wanted the cameras out, while she tells Sue Henry, Doherty did it. Lie after lie after lie.Come on. Doesn't seem a little twisted to you? You don't see any problem withher actions. And now the Sam thing. Sam is called out of order twice I believe, on the video, HE LEAVES THE PODIUM AND WALKS AWAY. Then he's called an a-s-s-h-o-l-e-, unlike what the paper said and started having words with the other guy. And they're going to arrest the guy and for what? Get ready to payfor this next debacle in court.This one could get realpricey.

Well, I suppose you could put it that way or you could just answer the question.

Do you believe, as you have stated, that all it takes to disprove a rumor is to go to court and clear your name, and everyone should do it lest we think the rumor is true since they did not defend themself against the said rumor, or do you believe, as you have stated, that going to court to disprove a rumor and clearing your name makes someone an *******, and just proves they are trying to cover up what they did?

They sure seem to be directly opposing opinions so which one is how you really believe?

I don't like rumors for starters. When a subject comes up I'll make people think about it from what I know. I NEVER started a rumor. I've posted about what I've heard on corruption and asked for it to be verifiedbut never about something personal, unless it had something to do with the job performance of an elected official. I also try to verify and investigatewhat I heard from as many sources as possible and then post what I know. I don't beat up kids and tried to stop those posts. I don't beat up family members and try to quell those posts. I've also seen Joe edit or ban posters who could not verify the allegations made about someone. He knows what's defamation or slander very well. If it's posted and stays posted, it's a good bet it's true, as bad as it may sound or as painful it is to read. I shy away from some of those, as many others do. Back to the "going to court" issue. Yes I believe if someone is defamed or slandered, you take the accuser to court. It's not pretty, but in the computer age, that's becoming an ever growing issue. There's no easy answer to the subject that ties in 1st amendment rights. It's a fairlynew issue for courts to deal with. These sites have started a revolution, of sorts, as we disseminate information about our government. There's obviously an upside and downside to it. But hey, democracy was never meant to be pretty. Yo cannot be an elected official these days and expect to get away with anything like in the past. It's easy now to "get the word out". I hope I answered you r question.

So my question is this: since about 80% of what is written as 'fact' at DD is actually rumor (as in it is stuff like "I heard...", "A friend of mine told me...", "Word on the street is...", etc.), then why post at DD in the first place?

Sure, we do some rumor-mongering here, but at least we aren't:
a. Pretending that it's fact
b. Using it to hurt innocent people

Unlike the folks across the hall.

Actually, all the horse$hit I spread over here IS fact and not fiction. I only use the hairdressser's brother in law from New York as a ploy to divert attention from the fact that I don't want to admit how I know these things. I am a very wiley character with many tricks up my sleeve. I also have a handlebar mustache which I am twirling between my fingers as I type.

I think I finally have come to the conclusion that Princess Leah is none other than the little missus. Joanne's post are very stilted, veryserious and (this is a compliment BTW) generally fact generated. I am not saying her conclusions make sense but only that she generally sticks to facts as opposed to rumor. Princess Leah style is very similar. Any thoughts? Worse, has anyone already said this andI am having a senior moment and have forgotten? :) Wouldn't be the first time!

My source - who hasn't been wrong yet - is inside and will give me details. I got a quick PM from her/him today that didn't include the details. I'll get them.

For what it's worth, I read a bunch of AS posts at the nut house - most of them are comments on the office bill works in. Not being treated fairly, why do they get a car and we don't, etc. The comments made by AS fit those made by someone who works in that department.

It would take virtually no effort to install blocking and/or tracking software on Scranton's municipal computers. For the life of me I don't understand why this hasn't already been done by the city and the School District.

So by your logic the UofS is responsible somehow for the drivel you post?
The location from which your posts are coming from is irrelevent. (Unless you are posting during the time you are supposed to be working. In that case you are, of course, going to be answering to your employer.) What will be relevent, ifMrs. Gatelli is successful, is who you are, and what, if anything, you posted that you may now wish would never be associated with yourself. :) Time will tell!

I used to work in the Library when I was a student there. IF you are posting there you are either in the Pro-DEo room or on the seconod floor in the little room or the big room. Cameras in all of those after some dude got caught talking to rosey palm and her five friends. If infact you do post there i can simply go there, ask Dr. Katz for back logs on the cameras. and check your posts with times and just you deductive reasoning to find our your identity. BUT I DON"T REALLY CARE THAT MUCH. anyone else however, be my guest. PM me and I will give details.

Holy F, If in fact you do post there, and you have been for a few years, at least 2005, I may know you and you know me. I know you wont admit it but I remember about 5 or 6 faithful non students who would come in and use the cpu's. I would bs with a few. Most where older guys and gals all very nice. I remember one however expressing his disdain with the administration because he saw me wearing a hat with the DA'S logo. I got it at a golf tourny. everytime we saw each other he would jokingly bust my balls about being "one of Jarbola's or doherty's or mellows guys" I actually like this guy , he wasn't a jerk just a guy with a differnt opinion than mine. I have a feeling 99.9 % of the posters over there are fine in real life. they use the site as a alter ego. they can be as crass and rude as they want when they are hidden. Whatever. Hey news from the shed, if it is you, you can PM me too and my lips will be sealed if in fact you do remember me.
